Last weekend, I took in a possibly pregnant 2 time momma pig and one of her pups from the latest litter. It was kind of an emergency situation. I thought the pup I brought with momma was a female, based off pictures, but when I checked for myself I found the baby to be a boy. A previous adopter recently contacted me and asked if I could get ahold of him if I ever had any babies come in so he could add a baby to his bonded pair of boys. When it was discovered the baby I brought with momma was a boy, I contacted the previous adopter right away, as I had to get momma away from any and all boys asap. The baby got adopted several days ago and I got an update of how he is doing with his new friends. Here's a pic of him during introductions. He's one of the piggies snuggled up in the sleep sack 🥰

Alfred and Conway are 2 bonded males, ages unknown. Alfred, who is on the right, is very out going and loves to be petted when he comes to the edge of the cage. The way his hair looks kind of "slicked back" (not very noticeable in pics) makes him look like he drives a bad ass muscle car and keeps his ciggies rolled up in his tee shirt sleeve 😂 I think I'm showing my age, here....lol. Conway is a lot more reserved, but he is definitely coming out of his shell more and more each day. Alfred and Conway will need a minimum 2x4 C&C cage to be adopted.

I'm a couple days late posting this, but I'm sending a HUGE "Thank you" to those who donated when my bank account was drained by fraudulent charges. I was able to get 2 50 pound boxes of hay and 2 25 pound bags of pellets. 😊😘

Hello all! Asking for donations is something I try to avoid, but unfortunately someone breached my debit card and got me for quite a bit of money. Anyone who has dealt with fraud knows it takes quite some time for it to get sorted out. I'll need to purchase hay and pellets in the next day or so. Hay is $80 for a 50 pound box from Chewy and pellets are $40 for a 25 pound bag at Jake's Feed and Garden in Valparaiso. Here's the link for donating. Theodore (aka Teddy) and Simon came to the rescue separately but have been best buddies ever since their arrival. Theodore is quite the outgoing piggy, loving head scratches and any attention he can get. Simon is more reserved but doesn't mind being held and loved on. Simon is the piggy with more white fur and Theodore is a Teddy breed, having coarse fur. Theodore and Simon will need a minimum of 2x4 C&C cage in their forever home.

Rowan and Maggie are both just over 2 years old. Rowan is a neutered male, so that's why he is allowed to have a girlfriend 😊 Both piggies are super sweet, but Maggie is especially outgoing and lovable. Rowan and Maggie would make awesome family pets, as they are very easy to handle.

Earlier this week it was time to prepare to move the baby boys away from mom. For those who don't know, baby boys can impregnate their own mother as early as 3 weeks old. Unfortunately, it is often difficult to tell the genders of baby guinea pigs that early. I took the babies (and mom, for emotional support) to the vet and they concluded there was 1 boy and 2 girls. When I got home, I checked again and wasn't completely convinced one of the girls was actually a girl. I didn't want to leave the poor piggy all alone, but also didn't want to leave him/her with mom, just in case it's a boy. I was so lucky to have a long time supporter of the rescue, Sue, step up and volunteer to take the little piggy in and put with one of her spayed females until we can be 100% certain of the gender. She gave the baby a stuffed dinosaur to snuggle with and currently has a separated cage with the baby on one side and Blanche on the other, while they meet. They're doing well with getting to know each other and the divider will come out tonight or tomorrow.

Jack and Joey were recently adopted. Before they came to me they had never had veggies or hay. It took quite a long time before they would even try the veggies I gave them. Eventually they started trying some of them and just look at them now!! Let's also take a moment to brag about the cage their new family gave them....a 2x6 C&C cage. Momma Jan, baby Astrid and brother Jake (white streak) The babies were born July 4th. They were surrendered all the way from Michigan. Jake has a family lined up but Jan and Astrid need a forever home. Jan is so extremely soft and very sweet natured. She's protective of her babies even though she's basically still a baby herself. Astrid is her moms mini me. They will be available for adoption after their exotic pet vet visit July 25th. Please send a message if you are interested in extending your family.

Abby, Melissa and Sasha tried fruit for the first time and explored the new c&c foster cage. Fruit is high in sugar. It should be considered a rare treat. We took the plate away at the end of the video. They will be available after their vet visit July 25th (at about 6 weeks old). If you're interested in adopting please send a message.
