A few Fridays ago we took a trip to Hidden Ponds to have some fun competing in the Flower Power Hunter Derby!
Everyone had two great rounds and really applied the theme to their attire!
Taylor and Keefer won the 3ft derby!
Ava and Blue did not disappoint with their stylish attire winning best dressed in their division!
Emilee and Sedona were 3rd out of over 20 in the 2ft section!!
Giuli and Talent’s first round was the best horse show round they have ever had!
Jenna and Mandy rocked it!
Alice and Barcly had fabulous rounds and came dressed to impress!

Over the last few weeks team IHS took trips to the Old Field Farms shows.
At the Gold Coast classic Jenna and Mandy started off the day champion in the 2’3 baby jumpers earning 1,2,3.
Riley and Catherine were reserve champion in the short stirrup earning 1,2,4,4.
Genevieve and Daly were reserve champion in the mini short stirrup earning 1,1,3,3.
Emilee and Sedona were champion in the s/m/l pony hunters, earning 1,2,3,3. They were second in the classic which was combined with large ponies and horses! And were 4th in the m&s medal.
Taylor Hamilton and Carraways One Love were Reserve Champion and 1,2,3, and 4 in the larges.
Elizabeth and Daly were 2,3,4 and Coco and Tommy were 3,3,4 in the child/adult beginner.
Giuli, Maddy, and Alice wrapped up our day in some big classes! Giuli and Talent were 2,3,4 in the 2’ eq and Maddy and Bob were 4,5,6 in the eq and 3,4,6 in the hunters. Alice and Baccarat Rouge were 2,3,6,and 7 in the 2ft hunters.

Next, we competed at the Suffolk classic!!
Starting the day Molly and TJ were champion in mini short stirrup earning 1,2,2,2. Genevieve and Daly were 1,3,4,4 and reserve champion.
Emilee and Sedona won the flat and were 4,4,5 over fences in the s/m ponies. They were 4th in the classic and 6th in the medal.
Taylor and Caraways One Love were 1, 2, 3, 4, and Champion in the larges.
Elizabeth and Daly were 6,7,8 and Coco and Tommy were 6th in both classes in child/adult beginner out of a large group!
Maddie and Artic competed in the low child/adult 2’ eq earning 4,4,5.
To end the day Alice and Barcly competed in the 2ft hunters where they were 5,5, and 7th! Congrats!

Our team spent a few days at HITS Saugerties week VI and we couldn’t have asked for a better week!

Emilee and Clanfair Sedona were reserve champion in the S/M ponies earning 2,3,3! They also had a great round in the tiny bit ‘o derby! Sedona tried her heart out and Emilee has come so far since last year!

Coco and Ti Amo were reserve champion in the beginner eq earning 2,2,4! They also competed in the advanced beginner equitation cantering for the first time in a group (😬) they got 4th, 4th and 1st!!! They also competed in WT-poles and got 2 4ths out of a large group! Congrats Coco and Tommy on a successful first HITS together!

Giuli and Talent du Coin started off so confident in the tiny bit o’derby ending up 11th out of 45! Moving into maiden, they were 7th on the flat, and 3rd and 5th over fences! On Sunday, they did their first jumper class, slowly 😂! Talent was a perfect 3-ring partner and I’m so happy with how confident Giuli is becoming!

Ava and Love Story competed in the adult 2’ eq and pre-adult hunter! Blue was nothing but his best self and they were 6th, 8th, and 8th!

Maddy and Atlantis participated in the tiny bit o’ derby, maiden, and the jumpers! All of their rounds were solid, placing just out of the ribbons. Bob was happy to show Maddy the way at her first HITS experience!

Julie and Smoking Remnance also put in solid rounds in the Bit O’ Straw Hunter derby and low adult hunters! Taylyn put in such an incredible effort, and is really growing up, what a good boy!

This week wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the incredible IHS team! Thank you Nicole for your leadership and knowledge, Christen and Sarah for keeping things organized in so many ways, Diane and Fredy for shipping us, and all the parents for their dedication and support to all of the kids and horses!

We had a beautiful and fun last weekend! ☀️
Saturday we competed in the Seaside Hunter Derby at Old Field!
In the 2’ we had a first derby experience for Maddy, Giuli, and Emilee. Thankfully our 🦄 were their steady, honest selves and helped the girls have a super derby experience, all making it to the handy round! Maddy and Bob ended up 8th, Emilee and Sedona ended up 10th, and Giuli ended up 12th!
In the 2’6 class Julie and Taylyn put on their brave face and ended up 12th out of a large group of 23!
Today, we took a quick stop at Hidden Pond where Emilee and Sedona were first in the m&s pony medal, 2nd in the classic, and reserve champion overall!

Such a fun last few weekends of showing! First, we headed out to old field’s schooling show. We had a couple of new pairs join us on a very long but great show day!
Katherine and Beau started us off winning both over fences classes and getting 2nd and 4th on the flat in jr/adult beginner. They were also reserve champion.
Victoria and Daly got 2nd, 3rd, and 5th and Valentina and Chance got 3,4,5th in special beginner!
In long stirrup, Olivia and TJ were champion earning 1,1,2,4. Genevieve and Chance were reserve champion earning 1,2,2,5. Amelia and Daly earned all 3rds and Emma and Catherine earned 1,2,4,4.
The following Sunday, the IHS crew was back at it at the Smithtown Hunt horse show at Old Field. We came home with 9 tricolor ribbons!
The day started with Riley and Catherine earning 1,1,1,2 and champion in short stirrup. Genevieve and Daly were 1,1,3,3 and reserve champion in long stirrup. Molly and TJ were champion in mini short stirrup, earning 1,1,2,2.
In child/adult beginner Coco and Tommy were 1,3,7, Elizabeth and Daly were 2,3,3 in the A section. They both tied for reserve champion!! In B, Ava and TJ were 2,2,5,7 and Natalie and Chance were 1,2,4,5. Natalie was also reserve champion!
In the low children eq, Maddy and Bob were champion earning 1,2,4 and Giuliana and Talent were reserve earning 1,4,5. Both pairs also had good hunter rounds!
Wrapping up the day, Emilee and Sedona were champion in the S/M children’s hunter ponies! They won the under saddle and were 2,2,3 over fences. They ended up 3rd in the classic and won their m&s medal class! Quite the accomplishment!
Julie and Taylyn were 6th in the low hunter under saddle in a huge division for their first show back!

This past weekend we had the pleasure of hosting the 71st annual LIPHA horse show. Thank you to everyone who made this show possible!💚

We got the joy of watching 15 of our own riders compete!
Some highlights below!
✨Starting us off in short/long stirrup, Genevieve was 1,1,2,3 and champion on Daly! Riley was 1,2,2,3 and reserve champion on Catherine! Ariella was 1,2,3,3 on TJ! It was so great to see the improvement from these three riders since last season and we are so lucky to have the best lesson horses!
⭐️ In mini short stirrup, Amelia was champion earning 1,1,1,4 on Daly. Molly was reserve champion on a combo of Catherine and TJ, earning 1,2,2,3.
💛In the beginner division Elizabeth was reserve champion on Daly, earning 1,1,4. Coco was 2,3,3, completing her first canter class on Tommy!
☀️ Emilee and Sedona moved up to the small/medium ponies earning 3,3,4,6 out of a competitive group. We are so proud of this duo and the course they tackled!
Our very large group of low child/adult equitation riders went as follows:
🌟Ava and Blue were champion, earning 1,1,3.
🌟Maddy and Bob were reserve champion earning 2,2,4.
🌟 Giuli and Talent won an over fences class and got 4th on the flat.
🌟Lily got 2,4,4 with Blossom in their first show back in almost a year.
🌟Maddy and Artic were 3,3,5 and rallied after an exciting start jumping 😂
🌟Katie and Grandir got 4,4,5 in their first show together and Katie’s first time in the two foot!
💫 Taylor and Keefer won the Hunter Derby with a flawless trip even being awarded trip of the day on Sunday! On Saturday the pair competed in the large pony hunters where they were 3,3,4,4!

Last Saturday, Taylor competed at IEA Nationals in Tryon, NC where she was Champion in Future Intermediate on the flat. We are all so proud of her accomplishment!!
We would also like to congratulate Ava, who made it to nationals but unfortunately could not compete due to a prior commitment. Top 18 out of about 1600 future walk trot riders is something to be very proud of!

First show of the season took place today at Old field last weekend! It was a chilly but good day!
Amelia and Daly started us off with 1,2,2,2 and reserve champion in the jr/adult beginner division!
Coco and Tommy were 2,2,3,4 in the pre special beginner division! This was their first show together and we can’t wait to see how this pair progresses.
Elizabeth and Daly were 3,3,3,4 in special beginner!
Jenna and Theo were 3,3,4,4 in the child/adult hunters! This duo has made great strides since last year!

Thank you Nicole for you expertise and leadership, Diane for shipping us, and Christen and Sarah for helping and supporting all of the girls and horses. 🥰

A few weekends ago we attended IEA Zone 2 finals! Our riders did a terrific job and it was a very fun few days!
On Friday, Clover started us off with a 7th in MS WTC, Ava was 3rd in MS WT qualifying her for Nationals! What an amazing accomplishment! Emilee finished off the day winning her team MS WTC class! Another huge accomplishment!!
On Saturday, Rylie was 8th in intermediate fences, Sofia was 5th in open flat, Vivi put in a great effort over fences for team, and Taylor was second in her team flat class! Maddy put in a great effort over fences as well and Riley finished off the day with a 7th in her team flat class. Our middle school team ended up 5th, missing qualifying for nationals by just two points!
On Sunday, we had some middle school individual rides! Taylor put in a good over fences ride, and was second on the flat qualifying her for nationals! Riley got 7th on the flat! We are so proud of all our riders and can’t wait for nationals!

2023-2024 IEA regional finals was a success!CONGRATS to all the riders who competed yesterday!!
Some highlights:
* Our middle school team was champion! Winning 4 out of 5 classes! Congratulations to Vivi, Taylor H, Maddy P, Riley H, and Emilee who will continue on to represent the team at Zones.
* In open, Lily was 3rd for the team and 4th ind o/f. Sofia was 1st on the flat and is headed to Zones! Caroline was 6th o/f and 4th on the flat.  Maggie was 7th over fences and 6th on the flat. Taylor M was 5th in team flat. 
* In HS intermediate, Rylie was 4th for team o/f and first ind, she is also headed to Zones! Khloe was 5th over fences and 3rd on the flat. Amy was 1st on the flat for team and 4th ind. 
* In MS intermediate, Vivi was 1st for the team fences, 2nd ind and 3rd on the flat. Taylor H won all 3 of her classes and was high point rider! Off to Zones!
* In HS novice, Katie C was 5th o/f for team. Katie S was 6th o/f ind. Juliette was 3rd ind and 5th for the team on the flat. 
* In MS novice, Maddy was 2nd for the team and 3rd ind o/f. Abby was 6th over fences and 2nd on the flat. Riley H was 1st in both her flat classes. Also off to Zones! 
* For HS WTC, Olivia S won her team a class and was 5th ind. 
* For MS WTC, Emillee won her team class and was 5th ind. Clover won for ind and is headed to Zones! Genevieve was 2nd, Olivia R was 3rd, Ariella was 4th, Julia was 6th, Amelia was 7th and Katherine put in a great ride! 
* In HS WT, Emma was 2nd and Brianna was 3rd. 
* In MS WT, Ava was 1st and is off to zones! Natalie was 3rd and Katie was 8th.  
* The biggest award of all goes to Boots for being horse of the day! Truly one of the best 🦄 out there!
