Elijah is our handsome house panther🖤😻
He is a super shy guy, but he loves spending time snuggling with his favorite volunteers. The way to his heart is with wet food, he is always first in line when it’s lunch time. He is getting braver and starting to meet new people and once he knows you he is very affectionate. Elijah loves to play and gets along well with most other cats and also enjoys playing with younger kittens. This sweet boy will need a quiet home and an adopter that will have the patience to let him settle in at his own pace. Elijah is about 5 years old and weighs 11 lbs.

His adoption fee is $75 which includes:
Neg FIV & FeLV Test, Neuter, microchip and vaccinations including rabies.

We wanted to thank our recent adopters for giving these cats a home for the holidays. Felix was adopted by a family of five and is settling in well. Smudge was adopted by the family that found her out in the cold a few weeks ago. One of our seniors, Sarge, who has been here a long time is now in a quiet and loving home of his own♥️

Happy 😻

How cute is Skittles?! Not too long ago he wasn’t sure about people, but our volunteers have worked with him and now he will come up for pets and affection. He is always up for playtime and is the first to check out new toys. He is also an excellent climber and our best explorer. Skittles gets along well with other playful cats. He is 2 years old and weighs 10 lbs.

His adoption fee is $75 which includes:

Avalon is an adorable Torbie who is looking for a home of her own. She is a quiet and gentle girl whose very favorite thing is a snuggly bed. She is our number one fan of live music when the kiddos come to play at the shelter. Avalon gets along well with other easy going cats but tends to keep to herself. She loves to play with wand toys and venture out to explore. Avalon is about 4 years old and weighs 10 lbs, and look at those eyes 💚💚

Looking for a way to do your little bit of good in the world? You can start the new year by volunteering with us! 🥳

Join us at 6:30pm on Thursday January 16th, at our shelter, and let us show you the many ways you can get involved 🐱♥️🐶

Our address is 7375 Engle Road in Middleburg Hts. We are in the Middleburg Hts Service Center.

The first step to volunteering with us is to attend the New Volunteer Information Session. This session will provide you with information to help you determine where you’d like to participate.

During the session, you’ll learn about the shelter, what our volunteers and fosters do, and what additional volunteer opportunities are available. For roles that require additional training, the presentation will include information on the next steps in the process.

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule and availability, whether you have a lot of free time or just a little. And in addition to volunteering directly at the shelter, there are also behind-the-scenes opportunities where your skills and experience could make a world of difference for animals in need.

Please note: volunteers under 18 years of age need to have a parent or guardian with them at all times, and available activities will be at the discretion of the Shelter Manager.

The animals are why we do what we do – join us, and find out how you can be a part of making sure that these dogs and cats are given a chance to live their best lives 🥰

🫧Bubbles is a social butterfly in our free roam room. She is a happy girl who is enjoying life and loves to play! She also loved the live music that was played at our shelter🎻. If you’re looking for an active kitty to keep you entertained, she’s your girl. She is always making us laugh with her antics. Bubbles is affectionate and is always looking for pets from her people, but she can be sassy at times, so she would do best with older children 🥰

Sweet and adorable Bubbles is just over a year old and weighs 9 lbs.

We cannot say enough about this darling girl. Cleo is a super sweet and petite tuxedo who was found living outside on her own in a local neighborhood. She loves to be petted and has the most adorable markings. She settled into life at the shelter pretty quickly and she gets along well with other cats. She is an adventurous explorer and loves to be up in high places. Cleo is the perfect mix of sweet and playful. We think she will make a wonderful addition to any lucky family 😻

We’ve had a couple amazing adoptions!

You might might remember little Vincent, he came to us very sickly when he was found out on his own back in Sept. He was fostered with a student from the Polaris Pre-Veterinary Science Program (that we partner with) and they made it official last week!♥️

Mayor also found a home of his own and he’s already enjoying life with his dad🥰

You may have seen Charlie when we shared her for our Whiskers & Wags campaign. Our little survivor is still looking for a home of her own.

Charlie is very affectionate with people, and she does okay with other calm cats that give her space. She will need to go to a home without dogs. Charlie loves to come out of her condo and play with toys, especially wand toys, but she’s always happy to go back into her own bed for naps and bedtime.

When Charlie was brought to us back in July, she came with some adorable baggage... two beautiful 2-week-old kittens. Charlie and her babies desperately needed a safe spot to land.
You see, she had the kittens in the backyard of a home with a resident dog, and sadly, the first three kittens didn’t survive. Brave Mama Charlie climbed a tree, where she was able to safely give birth to Cringle and Crispin. They were rescued from the tree and thrived in one of our loving foster homes for several weeks. Now they’re all available for adoption at our shelter.

Charlie is 1 &1/2 years old and her adoption fee is $75 which includes spay, microchip and up to date vaccines

We didn’t want to pass by without sharing Gamat. This handsome boy is definitely a volunteer favorite. He loves to play, and his favorite activity is the laser pointer. It may take some time for him to warm up to new people, but he’s getting braver every day. He enjoys gentle head scratches, and he’s never turned away a Churu treat. Gamat is our handsome cow cat who is about 3 years old and weights 14 lbs. He has been here a long time and we would love to see him find a home for the holidays ♥️

We want to introduce Mayor. This gorgeous boy was outside on his own for months, and just before the cold hit he was found at the Middleburg Hts City Hall where he meowed at a kind city employee who helped him make his way to us. Mayor is a super friendly boy with adorable white toes! We think he would make a wonderful addition to a lucky family 🥰😻

We think Mayor is about two years old and weighs 12 pounds.

Music can help animals feel calm and relaxed. We were thrilled to have live Christmas music played at our shelter over the last month by music teacher Mrs. Woodie and several of her students. Avalon was always front and center, Tre came to the front of her kennel to listen, and several of the cats sat to watch or interacted with them as they played. A fun time was had by all 🐱🎻 #middleburgheightsanimalshelter #adoptdontshop #musicforcats #catenrichment

We give our cats different types of daily enrichment and this was definitely a favorite. Every song would lull Avalon to sleep, and then she would wake up until the next one was played. Lucy and Ethel are an adorable bonded pair👯‍♀️💕 These two have the cutest faces and prettiest eyes. They stay in the office where it’s a little quieter and their personalities have really blossomed. They love to play, enjoy catnip, and really enjoy their treats and wet food. Lucy loves to explore and see what she can get into. Ethel must pull each piece of food from the bowl before she eats it. They’re sure to keep you entertained. They’ve been together for a long time and they must be adopted together. They have a special adoption fee of $100. If you have room in your heart and home for two, please consider adding these beauties to your family. They also get along with other friendly cats. They are about four years old.
