UPDATE: Wow! I want to say thank you so much everyone for sharing & all the responses received. We have found a good amount of people to fill all times every day for right now. Please still feel free to message if you are interested & I can start a waiting list to fill in for anyone that canโ€™t make it out.

We are in search of a few working students!
Previous horse experience is preferred & if not this is a great opportunity to learn!๐Ÿ˜Š

This would be helping clean stalls, brushing & cooling off horses etc. in exchange for riding lessons and learning more about the training side of things, eventually being able to step in and work with some of the horses in training.
Down the road this could turn into a paid position as more of a full time assistant for someone that is very dedicated & responsible.

I have yet to introduce Indy, he is a 15yo draft/qh cross in to be started under saddle. He has done some packing previously, but with very little ground work & has not been rode before. He was not too happy at first having to do more grown up things now and learn some patience๐Ÿคฃ
But, despite his age he has been learning his ground manners & is coming along very well already!

โ€œI will never be able to describe the power of time spent cleaning stalls.

During this time I have made some of the biggest decisions in my life. I have silently thought my way, step by step, through some of the biggest disasters of my life. I have ugly cried my way through heartbreak all while cleaning stalls. Iโ€™ve thrown bags of sawdust in range as I thought about all of the sh*tty things going on in my life. Each stall has oddly given me a place of comfort as I stood, fork in hand, feeling empty during the times Iโ€™ve felt so alone. It has taught me to appreciate the serenity of the quiet. Realizing the ones in my life I can count on and the numerous fake people who are only present when convenient for themselves. Iโ€™ve enjoyed a free gym membership, as Iโ€™ve sculpted my back and shoulders into โ€œhe manโ€, just sifting away. Iโ€™ve stumbled my way, dry heaving, with sunglasses...because god forbid my best friend be forced to stand in a dirty stall. Today I spend my morning, cleaning stalls and processing my life. Iโ€™m mentally making life changing decisions, as I write this post, knowing that whatever I decide, it will be the right one, as it was made in a stall.

I understand that there are those who think us horse people should get โ€œrealโ€ jobs. And that all we do is spend our days โ€œplayingโ€ around. Iโ€™m genuinely sorry that you have never been exposed to a lifestyle that teaches you discipline, how to love unconditionally, put something other then yourself first, bust your ass for the things you want and need, kept humble by a 1200 lb animal, the real meaning of โ€œhard workโ€, early mornings and late nights spent caring for something other than you.

This was one of Dixie's first rides here with me. She was really having trouble with her transitions & balancing underneath herself. On top of that her hind end was very locked up making her stiff & argumentative when I would try to help her do things correctly. She has since been adjusted and has made some amazing progress after that!

-We specialize in starting, finishing & showing horses or mules in western pleasure, hus, pattern classes, reining, ranch, hunter/jumper, trail, dressage & more.
-They go home with fairly extensive groundwork & good manners under their belt as well!
-Stalls are available, including quality hay, daily cleaning, turnout time & trims done by the farrier as needed (shoes are extra).
