This recipe is super easy to whip together and the batter can be used in a variety of ways. Freeze it, stuff it in a Kong, or smear it all over your bathtub walls while bathing your dog โ€” whatever works best for you and your pup!

Ingredients:
โ€ข 1 cup pumpkin
โ€ข 1 apple, peeled and chopped
โ€ข 2/3 cup oats
โ€ข 6 tablespoons all natural peanut butter (Xylitol free)
โ€ข 6 tablespoons Greek yogurt
โ€ข 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
โ€ข Cinnamon (optional)
Directions
1. Peel the apple and slice it, removing the core. Make sure all the apple seeds are removed.
2. Dice the apple into small pieces. We sliced the apple in about quarter inch pieces, then cut them in half length-wise, before dicing into small cubes.
3. Add all ingredients into a medium mixing bowl. When adding the honey, use your discretion. Don't add too much as too much honey can irritate your dog's digestive system.
4. Mix everything together.
5. Divide batter into an ice cube tray, create small, treat-sized balls, or stuff the batter into a Kong.
6. Place the treats into the freezer overnight.
7. Give to your dog to enjoy!

Peanut Butter Banana Cookies for Dogs
โ€ข 2 cups Old Fashioned oats
โ€ข 2 medium ripe bananas
โ€ข ยฝ cup all natural peanut butter
Preheat your oven to 300F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Add the oats to a food processor and grind until they reach a fine powder. Add the bananas and peanut butter and blend until a sticky dough is formed.

Remove from the food processor and roll out on a lightly floured surface, using whole wheat flour or more ground oats. Use a heart cookie cutter or just cut them into squares with a knife or pizza cutter.

Lay the treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the treats are puffed up a bit, and dark brown on the bottoms, (they will still feel soft when first removed from the oven). The treats will get a bit firm once they are cool but will still be a slightly softer dog treat. Let cool before giving one to your pup.

Store in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or store them in the freezer.

A small dog with the "perfect pug mug" won big at the 2024 National Dog Show. A pug named Vito was crowned the winner of the annual canine competition.

Vito and his handler, Michael Scott of Chesapeake City, Maryland, visited TODAY on Nov. 29 to talk about their big win, along with David Frei, longtime host of the National Dog Show.

Frei said that Vito โ€œstood outโ€ from the rest of the dogs at the competition.
โ€œHeโ€™s got this whole personality to him. He owns the ground he stands over. Heโ€™s got the perfect pug mug,โ€ Frei joked on TODAY. โ€œThatโ€™s what we call it and heโ€™s got the great attitude too.โ€
