Patient: 5-year-old Quarter Horse mare
History: Presented with bilateral forelimb lameness; previous diagnoses include navicular syndrome and left front navicular bone cyst.
Diagnosis: Bilateral podotrochlear apparatus abnormalities, including moderate to marked navicular bone changes, deep digital flexor tendinopathy with dorsal border tears near the navicular bursa, and mild bilateral deep digital flexor and impar enthesopathy.

🏅 Why It Stood Out: Exceptional visualization of deep digital flexor tendon lesions using soft tissue filter images, providing critical diagnostic insights beyond traditional imaging.
🏆 Vet CT Judging Comments: Higher marks were awarded to cases where soft tissue filter images added diagnostic value beyond bone filter and ancillary imaging.

Patient: 10-year-old Arabian Saddlebred cross mare
History: Presented for evaluation of the head and neck after an abnormal noise and palpable movement were noted in the cranial cervical region. Despite no signs of pain or protective posturing, a loud, dull noise was detected during neck movement.
Diagnosis: Severe degenerative injury with joint space collapse at C1-C2, accompanied by extensive bone abnormalities, signaling permanent structural damage to the joint.

When the University of Wisconsin scanned an 11-month-old Holstein bull with lameness, we were impressed to say the least! Dr. Brenda Righter’s expertise earned her 1st Place in the Limb Category with the overall highest score of 31 points.

📋 Case Highlights:
-Presentation: 4/5 lame RF limb, fetlock effusion, mild tenderness
-Diagnostics: Standing CT revealed osteochondritis dissecans, cystic and lytic lesions, and subchondral defects
-Outcome: Arthroscopic debridement led to a smooth recovery. Now, he’s thriving at home!
