Long overdue post, but thank you JJ Lavieri Stables for coming out and teaching at our clinic! As always the clinic was filled with so many laughs and helpful tips. Thank you for always making learning fun for myself and everyone who participated. Thank you to everyone who came and supported the clinic, whether you were on a horse or not! Can't wait until the next one!

While everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving today and before we transition into the Christmas vibe, I FINALLY wanted to post the pictures from the Halloween show. We also celebrated Monkey's 12th birthday! Thank you everyone who made the day possible! The day was full of so many laughs and everyone having a great time. Thank you Terry Kramer for all the wonderful pictures, they came out amazing! Also a big shout out to Wacky Treatz for the wonderful homemade sweets! We had cake pops, chocolate covered pretzel rods, chocolate covered oreos and I even ordered some chocolate covered oreos with added peanutbutter for myself! They were all homemade and Halloween themed! If you're ever looking for anything sweet or even homemade bagels and breads or anything in between, I highly suggest checking them out! So for this Thanksgiving, I am so very thankful for the barn family I have and how we can all come together to make anything happen.

Flying Free Stables had a busy two weekends!

Last weekend we went to The New Shallowbrook Equestrian Center, LLC!

Princess Merida Brave and leaser Amelia Robertson placed in all her flat classes and took Champion of her large crossrail class division. This was their first time competing out of green horse and competing in the 13 and up age division! Beyond proud of how far this team has come!

Big Thunder and his leaser Callie Kramer placed in all of her flat classes and took Champion in the 2-2'3 jumper division! Thunder had been on the mend for the past couple of weeks and this was their first show back together, they did not miss a beat. Thunder is more of a eventing/jumper horse, so this was also their first time in a WTC class together in the hunter division. Thunder gets a bit excited when he has other horses cantering past him, so for them to place 2ND in the pleasure class with 10 horses in the ring cantering past them was a huge accomplishment!

This past weekend Flying Free Stables went to Mystic Valley Hunt Club, Inc.!

Monkey D. Luffy and his leaser Grace won their 2'3 combined test! They were amazing to watch in the dressage and they absolutely rocked the jumping portion. I really believe I found the right leaser for Monkey as Grace strives to take this horse and herself to new levels, as she takes on whatever is put in front of her.

Princess Merida Brave and leaser Amelia took second in their 18" combined test! This was their best dressage test to date and got around a very difficult jumping course. Merida is only 6 and just came into jumping. She has mastered the crossrails and is now braving herself over the verticals and more eye catching fillers! So proud of these two!

Princess Merida Brave and Belle Secor placed first in their 18" combined test! Merida is not Belle's normal mount, but they really came together as a team and had a confidence building round, for both of them, which landed them in first. Belle really did amazing with this little pony, that pulled double duty this weekend, and really pushed her to do her best!

I haven't had the time to post the past couple shows that these amazing girls and horses competed in so here it goes!

Princess Merida Brave and Amelia Robertson placed 3rd at the Pre-Elementry combined test at Treasure Hill. They're really starting to break out of their comfort zone!

Monkey D. Luffy and Callie Kramer placed 4th at the Advanced Elementary 3-phase at Treasure Hill. Thunder wasn't feeling his best so Monkey stepped in and completed his first ever 3-phase with Callie. They did amazing, especially with throwing them together two days before the show!

Big Thunder and Callie placed 2nd at Frazier Farm for the Advanced Elementary 3-phase, missing 1st by less then a point!

Princess Merida Brave & Amelia placed 4th out of a large class in the Pre-Elementry division at the CDCTA show held at Treasure Hill!

Big Thunder and Callie Kramer placed 2nd out of a large class in their FIRST EVER Beginner Novice division at the CDCTA show held at Treasure Hill! This was a big milestone for both Callie and Thunder. I'm so proud of them for not only going out there and stepping up a level, but also rocking the show and making it look easy! I couldn't have asked for anymore.

Monkey D. Luffy and Grace for the first time EVER, for BOTH horse and rider, completed the Beginner Novice division and took 5th at the Horse Power Farm derby! I honestly couldn't be more proud on how far this little horse has come and how much effort and heart he puts into everything he does. This was only his third time ever competing in cross country! Grace and Monkey make a fantastic team and it's amazing watching them grow together! I couldn't think of a better person to be leasing Mr. Monk!

Princess Merida Brave and Belle Secor competed in the Elementary division at the Horse Power Farm derby. Merida stepped up because Thunder wasn't feeling up to competing and Merida was a VERY last minute replacement for Thunder. This was the first time Merida and Belle have done cross country together and the first time Merida did an Elementary division, with this being her 2nd time out cross country EVER! Merida can be a tough ride some times when it comes to jumping larger fences, just because she's only six and this is all extremely new to her, but Belle stuck through it and got around the entire course. 😊

Monkey D. Luffy and Callie competed in the Elementary division at the Horse Power Farm derby. Monkey was also a VERY last minute fill in for Thunder. They both did amazing and jumped everything without a refusal. Unfortunately, there was a little mix up and they jumped the wrong #2 jump, but they were able to continue on and soared around the course without any hesitation from either horse or rider!

Princess Merida Brave and Amelia went out and completed the Pre-Elementry division at Horse Power Farm Derby. Amelia and Merida had no refusals and had an amazing schooling round afterwards! Amelia is just getting used to cantering her courses, therefore they were a bit slow resulting in time faults. In the end, they both did what I wanted them to do, which was go out and do more then they did last time and to have fun! Which they did! This pair has grown so much in front of my eyes. I couldn't be more proud of this little 6 year old pony and her amazing leaser who doesn't give up, even when it gets hard!

Flying Free Stables has two stall openings available for full board and training board. We are located in Middletown, CT. Our barn consists of an attached indoor with dust free footing, a grass outdoor, a large round pen, matted stalls, trailer parking and is adjacent to miles of well maintained trails that connects to the state forest. We have 13 acres of pasture space for group turnout, along with the option of smaller paddocks for individual turnout. We also have a medical paddock if necessary. They get 24/7 quality free choice hay outside, along with grass and then hay at night when they come in. Your horse also has the option to stay outside overnight when the weather allows. We have large personal tack lockers for your belongings, along with additional storage space in our loft. We provide grain twice daily, supplements, well bedded stalls, blanket changes in the winter and fly mask/sheets in the summer. We have an experienced onsite trainer that you are more then welcome to utilize for yourself or your horse.
