If you're thinking, "Wait... didn't we just celebrate an anniversary?" — you're not wrong! In November, we marked 3 years since opening our brick-and-mortar shop in Middletown. But our story started a little earlier than that — with 8 months of farmers markets, pop-ups, and setting up outside friends' shops. The weather in March isn't quite as celebration-friendly as November 🍁☀️... which is why we've never made a big deal out of our official business anniversary.

But 4 years of doing what we love, with the best community by our side, feels worth celebrating — rain, shine, or snow.

It Takes A Village - Join us for a free Self-Awareness workshop!

Had enough? Stress from society’s expectations getting old? Tired of feeling controlled by your emotions and mental health? Ready to learn to stand against the flow instead of being swept away by it?

Then join us on Sunday, February 16th from 1-3 PM, as we broaden our awareness and deepen our connections not just to ourselves, but as a community.

Self-awareness is crucial for personal growth and overall well-being. By becoming more self-aware, individuals gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, allowing them to make better decisions and handle challenges more effectively. Increased self-awareness leads to better self-regulation, as we are better equipped to manage our reactions and impulses. Practicing self awareness also helps with empathy and interpersonal relationships, because when we are self-aware we are more attuned to the feelings and needs of others. Furthermore, self-awareness fosters a sense of authenticity and confidence, allowing us to walk in our full light.

This workshop will be led by Nathan Guerrin. After spending decades working alongside people struggling with addiction, mental health, chronic illness and a variety of forms of intellectual disabilities, all while dealing with multiple of his own chronic illnesses, he learned we are all a lot more alike than we may think. He also learned many skills, for many different types of people, that help us meet ourselves where we are at and stand courageous in our own power.

This is a free event and registration is not required - we do request that you mark yourself as Going in the Facebook event, so we have an idea of how many folks to expect.

We're hoping members of our community have some extras, possibly even collecting dust and in need of a new home ♻️

We've got a bunch of snow storms in the forecast over the next week, so here's the plan 🌱🌎

Our general rule of thumb is to keep an eye on the forecast, as well as school and municipal closings.

❄️ If it's just snow and it stops before we open, we'll likely be open.
🌧️ If there's freezing rain, ice, or ongoing precipitation during shop hours, we're more likely to close for safety.

It’s less than 2 weeks away!!! We’re kicking off February with a super fun event with two of the coolest ladies we know 🙌❤️✨

The founder of will be hanging out with us and we’ll be talking all things hair care. Curious about her new hair & body oil? Come hear about the long journey to get it juuuust right. Just want to go on and on about her life changing shampoo and conditioner bars? Same, join me! 😄

This is a post to show appreciation for an absolute legend in the recycling & waste reduction world in CT 🫶🌎

Kim O’Rourke is today retiring from her role as the Recycling Coordinator for the City of Middletown, where she has worked for several decades. If you live anywhere in the Middletown area, or are involved in recycling or waste reduction initiatives in the state, then you likely know who I’m talking about.

Kim has been instrumental in many of Middletown’s leading-edge zero waste initiatives, and her passion for the cause has made a huge difference across the board. We’ve been so lucky to work closely with her, and she’s been one of our top refill customers since day 1 (literally at one of our early events, months before opening our first brick and mortar location) ❤️🌱🌎

We’re so grateful for all the education she has spread far and wide to groups of all ages, and we know she’s going to continue making a big difference in her future endeavors. We’ll miss having our friend just down the street, but luckily she’ll still need to get her refills 😄🙌

The next two Mending Circles will also feature a Patching Workshop!! 🙌🪡🧶

We’ll go over how to hand-sew basic patches on woven items, no previous sewing experience required. A variety of thread, needles, and pins will be available for use, as well as scissors and some scrap fabric for the patches. Folks are also welcome to bring any of their own supplies if they want to.

And, as always, all are welcome to join us to work on any handicraft, no matter their skill level.

What is a Repair Cafe?
A free community gathering focused on repairing items and learning skills.

Reboot Eco Repair Cafes are focused on giving items a longer life and teaching folks skills and habits to help keep all their items in good working condition. When items are repaired and maintained well, it keeps them out of the landfill and prevents the need for new replacement items. Thus saving money and the environment!

Our skilled repair experts are happy to take a look at your items and perform any small repairs during the event for free*. If any repairs require more time or more specific tools, they will recommend a course of action which may be as easy and convenient as them taking it home to repair and return to you when complete. More complicated repairs may incur a fee, but always cost less than a replacement.

Our repair experts are able to assist with the following repairs, among others:
- Small household appliances (vacuums, blenders, lamps, fans, etc.)
- Clothing & Gear (rips/holes, broken zippers, frayed edges, torn pockets/straps, etc.)
- We are always up for a new challenge so if you can carry it, bring it to our next event and let us take a look.

*Payment is required for any parts needed to complete the repair.

Moisture is the name of the game on these bitter cold winter days 🥶 ❄️

Oil, serum, balm, butter, conditioner - pick your pleasure, as long as it’s not loaded with toxins 🚫😱

And don’t try to fend for yourself out there in the Wild West of bath and beauty products, where it’s hard to know what to believe or trust, and where trial and error just leave you jaded, broke and drowning in containers & packaging 😵‍💫🙅🏽‍♀️

We use these products ourselves and we know the names and faces of the women behind the brands. And in case it’s not obvious, we do love a good moisturizer!! We can share our personal experience and the feedback of our customers. Real live people’s feedback, not some paid for review on whatever site the algorithms send you to. 🙄

💧The oh so popular conditioner bar and hair & body oil for shiny, nourished tresses without the fly-aways
🌱 body butter, great for all over skin moisture with amazing scents
💧 facial serum and nourish balm, great separate but even better used together in the winter months
🌱 tallow skin fluff, scrumptious fatty skincare for all (even your pets!)
💧 multipurpose balm, great for keeping with you on the go
🌱 skin recovery balm, for the rough spots, cracks and extra dry areas
💧 ranger balm, great for so many things and my favorite for my extra dry hands
🌱 face balm, lighter but still nourishing, great for travel

Not pictured (because I just had to snap a quick picture between customers and couldn’t get them to fit in right, and if it doesn’t happen quick it’ll never happen 😬) but definitely worth mentioning are the following:

💧 mango pressed serum, heavenly deep moisture for the face
🌱 a shaving balm for nurturing freshly shaven skin
💧 the refillable face and body lotion in our refill station

And honestly I’m sure there’s a few more that I missed - we have quite the selection 🤩
