Everyone who met her knew she was special. Even in retirement she always had to face the doorways or make sure she had eyes on mom.”

"Abby the Pug
Our sweet and spazzy girl who brought playfulness, laughter and joy to our lives for 14 years. Abby was filled with happiness and never met a human or animal she didn’t like. She would play fetch for hours on end and even in her old age would take time to run for a ball every now and again, regardless that her toothless grin no longer allowed her to carry it far. She loved her pink wobby, her stuffed Christmas snowballs, sniffing around outside, and barking at things she couldn’t see clearly in her old age. She adored her sisters - Belle and Lucy, who preceded her in death; her best friend and sister Gigi, and new puppy Lily. And there wasn’t an evening that she didn’t look forward to cuddling with her mom and dad for a few hours on the sofa.
Abby was selfless, the best friend anyone could ask for, and enriched our lives beyond measure. We will forever miss her kisses and wiggly butt welcomes. Our hearts are broken but as the song says,
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go 'til we're gone…
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on”

The holiday season can be particularly challenging when we're grappling with the loss of a cherished pet, and it's crucial to acknowledge that these emotions are entirely normal and valid.

In such moments, because holidays are times of tradition, it may be helpful to reflect on your family's traditions, and to consider starting a new tradition to honor your beloved pet -- lighting a candle in their memory, a new ornament or decoration, or putting up special photos that remind you of all the good times you had together.

If this is your first holiday season without your pet, we hope that you can think of all the happy times you shared, and that in time the grief that you are feeling will become easier
