Forever Remembered 🌈

Diamond
8/26/2014-12/27/2024

"Diamond was the most dedicated, loyal companion who loved everyone she met. In her younger years, she loved chasing squirrels and the occasional deer in the backyard. She had so much curiosity and would often try to catch the buzzing bees but thankfully was never successful. In her later years, she would peacefully watch the squirrels from her comfy bed on the porch. She wouldn’t wonder far for us, even on walks, she would stay right by our side. She enjoyed playing in the snow and playing fetch with her human brother. She enjoyed camping, hanging out with her doggie friends and laying around the campfire. She enjoyed naps and playing with her favorite squeaky toys. She enjoyed going for rides in the car or golf cart and would get excited when she saw deer or other wildlife. She was a Diamond in the Ruff, the Apple of our eye, one of a kind who loved us unconditionally until the end. If love could keep her alive, she would have lived forever. She will be forever missed and will always have a special place in our hearts!"

When we talk with families, we often hear about bucket lists, which can be a great way to create wonderful memories with your pet, and to spoil them and let them enjoy all the things they love.

While it’s easy to come up with things that you want to do with your pet, the question to ask yourself is: What would THEY enjoy? Tailor the list to things that will be fun for them, taking into consideration their current health and comfort. While some dogs may enjoy road trips, others may be feeling a bit crummy or nauseous, or it simply may not be their vibe. For those dogs, maybe a visit with a friend or some quiet cuddles may be more their speed.

Here are some bucket list items that owners have shared with us:

Going to the beach, mountains, or cabin
Cuddling together
Getting a treat at a drive thru window
A trip to the grandparents’ for a barbeque
Breakfast in bed
Laying in a favorite sunny spot
Getting a pet massage
Playing frisbee or fetch
Going squirrel watching
A steak or salmon dinner
Picking out a toy or treats at the pet store together
Road trip!
Playing in the sprinklers
Doggie play date
A picnic together

As with all bucket lists, the best way to live one out is to do it before your pet gets ill. And if that doesn’t happen – we know that illnesses and injuries can occur unexpectedly – make sure the list is about your pet and what they want to do, in their current state. ❤

Abby
3/5/2011-12/20/2024

"I saw a quote the other day that said, “No one talks about the cat a girl gets in her 20’s that changes her entire world.” This quote couldn’t be more true. There is something special about the fur baby you get, that witnesses your growth in your adulthood journey. In a way, you know they helped make you the person you are today, believing in you from the day you met.
Abby was the perfect mixture of sweet and sassy and everyone who knew her, loved her. She would string a ball of yarn through every room in the house, fetch pony tail holders and knock everything off the nightstand; just because she could, I think.
Abby, my sweet girl, we love you more than we have ever been able to tell you. You have been my best friend through all of life’s ups and downs these past 14 years. I will always cherish our years together and we will miss you terribly. We will love you always. Rest in peace, my sweet Abby. ❤️"

Forever Remembered 🌈

Masyanya
12/1/2002-12/20/2024

"Masyanya came into my life when I was 14. Although we separated here and there, we’ve been together for 22 years since. 22 amazing years of witnessing this fighter of a being who’s outlived all other pets we’ve had back then and even some that we’ve had after that. She’s also outlived my Mom whom she loved dearly. My brother sometimes joked she’d outlive him as well, so feisty was her spirit.
The only way her appearance in our life could be bolder would be if she straight up knocked on our door. Since she didn’t have opposing thumbs (a mercy to the human race), she did the next best thing and announced her arrival with a wall-shattering meowllllll. My other lovely girl - a tuxedo beauty called Fenya - was in heat at the time, so I assumed a feral tom came to claim her. I took a broomstick and opened the door ever so slightly to shoo the suitor away, and that’s when I beheld this tiny thing, barely 5 or 6 weeks old judging by the size. Masyanya opened her mouth and yelled her greetings.
My Mom who was already subjected to cleaning after two other cats (after I swore I’d do all the chores if she only let me have one) said “no way”. Masyanya heard her and activated the devilish scheme she called “kill them with cuteness” while I pretended to be looking for a new (or old) owner. For two weeks, Masyanya climbed on my mother’s chest with all the might of her four tiny paws. After Mom was immobilized, she turned on the purrs, the snuggles, and the hypnosis.
It worked. After two weeks, Mom said she could stay.
She has stayed with us since then and when we moved, she moved, too. She hunted birds and ate plants, slept on keyboards and woke humans up with that majestic strength of her voice when it pleased her. She lived in five different cities and travelled by train, by plane and by car. When she came to America at the wise age of 17, she quickly taught our two American cats to show some respect to her stature. She was a Queen through and through.
On December 20 2024, my Queen took her final journey to the new realms she can preside over. I like to imagine her being greeted by my Mom and Vasya - her cuddle buddy and her favorite out of our shared furry friends. It’s Vasya’s birthday today, and now they can celebrate together. I know they will show her the best gardens and bird hunting spots and sunny perches she can relax on.
Say hi to my other absent friends, my love. I will see you soon enough."

Sky
1/13/2018-12/19/2024

"Sky was my emotional Support dog over the years. She was my best friend to share my fears, lick away tears, and show me unconditional love when I needed it the most. She gave me the silence I so much needed at times my mind was so loud. When I couldn't sleep at night she was there to keep me company.
She was the smartest dog I ever owned.
She could open doors and do things I didn't even know was possible for a dog and I couldn't have asked for a better companion.
Mr. Patches is already there and so you won't be alone and until I see you again and I carry you with me everywhere I go
I love you Sky."

"Stannis came into my life at the perfect time. We had no idea all the things we would go through together at that time but we became inseparable. He was full of personality and when you looked at him you swore he might even just say something! He was wild and independent and his big backyard was his oasis! He was also so sweet and caring and a total clinger and I wouldn’t want him any other way. He loved frisbees, his squeaky toy babies, and that new tennis ball feeling. Rest easy my sweet boo bear."
