Update: Surgery scheduled for Tuesday 9/12.

Hello all! I just wanted to give all of my amazing clients a heads up that I will be needing surgery on my right wrist in the near future. As soon as I have the surgery date, I will update this post. Unfortunately, I know it will conflict with some of my already scheduled pet sitting, but I will do my best to assist you in getting alternate coverage if this affects your schedule. As some of you may remember, I had surgery on my left wrist three years ago… Im now in a very similar situation with my right wrist, where ligaments have been torn and need to be surgically repaired (after 7 weeks of stabilization in a cast did not work). This is happening as a result of many years of being pulled by strong doggos as well as me having a connective tissue disorder that I was unaware of until a few years ago (major bummer). Going forward, in order to be able to keep doing what I love, I will need to make some adjustments based on what my body is able to handle. Basically this means I will no longer be able to walk very strong dogs that are excitable or reactive on leash. (Trying to control a lunging dog is definitely painful for me). I absolutely hate that I have to make this decision, because enthusiastic big dogs are some of my very best buddies! Once my wrist is fully healed post-op, I will be able to resume walking well-trained dogs and small dogs. During recovery and going forward I will still be able to play with dogs in their fenced in yards, and of course continue sitting for other small indoor pets. I’m sorry for any inconvenience, but I have to respect that I have limitations so that I don’t have to keep repairing my wrists every few years 😣 Thank you to all of you for keeping me busy doing what I love for all of these years, and hopefully many many years to come!🦮🐈

I’m so proud of Miss Angie and the progress we’ve made! She was so nervous around me at first (first pic) she’d only look at my out of the corner of her eye and I couldn’t get near her. She needed me out of the house so she could eat her meals. After a few more visits she would eat with me in the house, then standing nearby, and eventually she started to come running over as I was putting her food down. Then she started bringing me her ball. I still couldn’t pet her, but we could play a little. Next she accepted treats from my hand. Then the other night she jumped up next to me in the couch for snuggles! I almost cried, I was so happy and proud of her! Today she jumped up on me when I arrived and immediately demanded pets and scratchies. Then we played with her toys and she got all silly and sassy. It’s the best feeling to earn the trust of a nervous dog! Now she’s all smiles. 💖

Had to share this happy Oliver trot from our walk at the park yesterday….He’s been battling lymphoma like a champ-Not every day is easy for him, but this past week he had some really GREAT days, which made me and Oliver’s family so very happy! This fancy-free Oliver trot brought me such joy, I had to share.
