🎉 We are thrilled to announce our team's choice for their January Employee of the Month. 🏆 Kara is such a strong and capable leader for our team! We are grateful for the 5 years she has been part of our veterinary team!
Kara shared with us, "I'm proud to be a part of such a hardworking team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians and assistants, and support staff. Over the years, I have learned so much on the job and I am grateful to the people who took the time to teach me so that I now can pass my knowledge on to others. I have gotten to know so many of our clients and their beloved pets over the years. The new puppy and kitten exams always make for a fun day, but I am also grateful to be a supportive shoulder to lean on for our clients for those appointments that weigh a little heavier on the heart. This career chose me, I think, and it definitely is my niche. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for some possible snow this afternoon! 🌨️ Since it has snowed so infrequently in recent years, many of our younger patients have never seen it snow yet! ❄️ Be sure to take lots of pics and videos and share their joy, confusion, or disgust! 😆 What do you think your bestie is going to think of it? 💙 Be sure to keep their paws protected if anyone in your area uses rock salt to melt snow. It can cut, irritate, or burn paw pads and be ingested if paws aren't wiped down after a walk.

Ready for a fresh new year with your pals at Middletown Vet? ✨ This miracle pup named Doc sure is! His mom named him Doc, after Dr. Johnny, who saved his life with a super risky surgery. ♥️
She shared, "I am forever thankful for our entire MVH family for what they did for this guy. From the techs who loved on him and gave him all the pets and snuggles (Jay is one of his faves!) and Heather who replaced caths overnight because he kept pulling it out.. to Susan in rehab who got him back moving.. to grooming who loves him every 6-8 weeks and spoils him… to my friends who kept me sane while I fell in love with him and was so worried about him… and to the doctors who not only said yes to saving him, but continued to provide the best care for him day after day. We are so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you who had a part in giving this miracle boy a shot at an amazing life as the most spoiled pup there ever was. Doc is a true testament of the amazing work done every day and the impact on the families of the pets helped."

❓Did you know regular De-shed treatments can reduce shedding up to 4 weeks? 🤩 Both Blade and Kenley are happy huskies tonight because they got a De-shed treatment today from Lauren who has been grooming for almost 15 years here with us! ⭐ Lauren shared that De-shedding dogs is one of the most satisfying parts of being a groomer. 🛁 Believe it or not, our spa guests and groomers spend about 80% of their time in the bath tub during this particular treatment process because working on a clean, dry coat helps reduce coat damage. And although both Blade and Kenley are huskies, their coats had different needs. 💜 For Kenley, Lauren did what is known as an open/close method during the bath. This is when she opens the hair follicle with a gentle shampoo to help release the dirt, sebum, and dead hair. Then she uses a deep conditioning treatment to close and protect the follicle. 🧡 For Blade's coat, a closed, then open, then closed again method was used. both of them are looking great for this month of October! 🎃 #husky #deshed #groomingbylauren #middletownvet #bestvetyet
