It’s cute cat Thursday and for little Olive it’s also SPAY day!
Believe it or not, this adorable tabby is still available for adoption and waiting for her forever home. She is so sweet and affectionate that it’s almost impossible to get a good photo of her just sitting in one place.
Olive is UTD on all veterinary care.

Some days are busier than others! On top of the normal day-to-day chaos of caring for all the animals, we also had two separate vet visits…one was scheduled and one was not 😆

23, yes, TWENTY THREE!, of the resident rescue cats who were due for their vaccines and exams were seen and vaccinated by Dr. Youssef of Frederick Veterinary Center!

And of course Shane presented with an apparent kick wound and very swollen face first thing in the morning. Luckily he was cooperative having his face iced and taking meds until South Mountain Equine was able to do a thorough examine and x-rays to rule out any fractures or other injurieses. We are happy to report that he is feeling much better today!

We are lucky to have such wonderful veterinary professionals willing to work with us and help ensure the rescue animals receive the best care possible.

Sometimes the most compassionate, selfless thing you can do as a guardian of a horse is to make the decision to put an end to their sufferingg, to ease their pain or let them go on a good day ♥️
Sophie had 17 good years with our farm family and we were lucky enough to provide her with a safe, loving environment where she was able to live out her life doing whatever she wanted.

It may seem silly, but here we are again reminding everyone that we are in fact NOT a roadside petting zoo. That means that we are NOT open to the public 🤷‍♀️ Beside the fact that our rescue farm is private property, it’s never OK invite yourself over to someone else’s property, lean on or climb on their fence, try to feed their animals (of any kind), reach into fences or entice animals to put their heads through fences. Horses will bite, even if you are not feeding them. Fingers look like food! If you have any questions as to why it is not OK to do the above things, please reach out so we can have a conversation 😊 let’s keep everyone safe

You won’t find any kittens or intact cats at our rescue farm!
We make sure that all of the cats in our care are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and receive any and all the vet care they need.
This may be different from any ‘farm’ you visit, but that’s because it’s simply irresponsible to have cats (feral or not) reproducing.

This intact male, currently nicknamed Tom Cat, started to hang around our farm a few months ago. We were finally able to have him walk into a carrier on his own in order to have him neutered and vaccinated! Yay!
