We're watching the weather and it's going to be hot... really hot this week. We will be modifying our walks and the time outside we have with dogs under our care as we deem necessary. Not just that but think about your home. It's going to heat up quickly and there's little relief this week when the sun goes down. Adjust your AC accordingly. If you have it. Use it. Ceiling fans help a lot too. Your cats, dogs and the pet sitter will appreciate it greatly. Don't forget to provide fresh water often!

New Felines in the Fur Family. This is Doni and Kara. What faces lol. Things got off to a scary start when Kara didn't present herself at the first or second visits. After thoroughly searching the house like it was a crime scene we had to make a phone call to "Mom" which we hate to do. Turns out Kara got herself locked in a room we didn't have access to and she shouldn't have had either. Kara was very happy to be rescued. Lots of love given. Food and water too. Doni may have enjoyed being an only child temporarily because if she knew where Kara was she wasn't saying anything.

Daily I make a visit to the tiny retirement village that Apricot, Holly, Haley and Marty call home. I'll miss my small seniors and the mid day shuffle of getting them outside for potty and fresh air, followed by refreshments inside and getting them settled for snoozles. Since it's summer time and school is closed I'm not needed. But I'll miss cheering Apricot on going down and up her ramp. I'll miss Holly sploofing on the sunny patio and refusing to go back inside. I'll miss having to carry Haley outside because she doesn't want to. I'll miss telling Marty to get out of the way lol. I look forward to resuming our routine at the end of the summer when I'm up and running and school is open.

I will miss my friend Carol this summer. Carol and I go way back. I met her when she was 1 day adoption old 🍼. Truth be told I don't usually see Carol in the summertime because school is out. But I still miss her 💕. Hopefully I'll be back in action when school starts so Carol and I can resume couch cuddles as previously planned.

Ma and Pa were deeply saddened to hear that our friend Jasper crossed over the bridge earlier in the week. He was such a sweet boy who loved his pets and treats. He will truly be missed by all who loved him. I'm sure he was greeted by his sister Holly on the other side, and they are enjoying lots of cuddles together.
In Jasper's memory Ma and Pa will make a donation to a local rescue. ❤️🥰

As I get ready for my surgery I realize how much more I'm going to miss friends during my rehab each day 😕. Like my buddy Milo who loves to sit in the shade and watch people - he doesn't think anyone notices him being nosey. They do.... But he's cute... And since I'm with him, by default I'm also cute so we get away with it.

New kitties to the Fur Family. I want to call them Salt and Peppa.... But that's not their names lol. Introducing Frankie and Sophie, two senior felines enjoying life to the fullest in the cottage ❤️. Sophie is so very sweet. You can love her any time, anywhere. Frankie on the other hand (so far) is quite the opposite. You may touchy when I want you to touchy but will decorate your jeans free of charge. It'll be fun getting to know these two this summer. 😀

Great to see our friend Hazmat aka Hazzy this week. I've been holding off putting his photo out because there is a second cat that makes this a duo - Cheshire. She is very shy and doesn't like paparazzi. So we may never get much more than a blur. In the meantime, enjoy the XL boy who is sweet, loves brushing, rolling and his toys a bunch!

Great to see Buddy again! He's a big boy who loves dinner time, play and now his lil bro! Jasper is a spitting image of his older brother, except half his size and not as outgoing yet.... Buddy will teach him the ropes and plump him up. Welcome to Ma & Pa Fur!!

Spent most of the mid-day week with Miss Zoe. You never know which toy she'll have ready when you arrive. Today... Hedgey, the Hedgehog. Greeter. Bathroom buddy. Grass specialist. Deck stairs supervisor. Water bowl warrior. Belly rub negotiator.... These friends are no joke 😳 But the treats are ALL hers.

New to Ma and Pa Fur is Marty. A distinguished older puggle who came to his family by way of Durham AC. He now lives with 3 senior ladies - Holly and Haley 14 yr old Chihuahuas and Apricot a 14 yr blind poodle. We have a house full of personality now.... Not like we didn't before. It's safe to say it's more like a retirement community for canines ❤️ and I'm Rec Director 😀

Today are my last visits with Indy and Luna. Their family has been away a full week and miss them dearly. I convinced the kits to sit down and do some quick kibble art to show them just how much they were missed too. After asking several times not to eat the art supplies they each did their own masterpieces and signed them of course. ❤️❤️. Their mom was thrilled to board the plane home knowing they had two kitties anxiously waiting their arrival!

Just a reminder that Ma & Pa Fur will be on vacation from May 4 - May 12. We'll respond to texts and emails when we get back. We won't be able to book any vacations while we are away and our summer availability is extremely limited.

These two cuties are back with Ma and Pa. Indy and Luna. No toy is safe in their presence. No morsel of food will go uneaten. No sneaker will go unsniffed. We're ready for a week of non-stop action!

Ma & Pa just heard that Lucy passed. She was the center of her parents world. Loved her hikes. Loved her walks. Loved her butt scratches. Loved her cookies (a lot). We were one of the first people to meet her after she was adopted so we truly were like her family. Today is an incredibly sad day. Lucy will be deeply missed. We will make a donation in Lucy's memory to a local animal charity.

Hello Fur Family! Just a quick announcement if you haven't received a letter or spoken to us yet.... Ma is scheduled for rotator cuff surgery at the end of June so Pa will be running things solo. It's temporary. We're hoping Ma will be back to light fur stuff before Labor Day and a bit more afterwards. This means we won't be taking new clients this summer and we will be extremely limited on walking and pet sitting availability. Hopefully come fall things will be back to normal. Thank you for understanding.

Carol was promoted from Level 1 Beginner Bunny last year to Level 2 Premium Peep this year. Unfortunately she didn't look upon this as a promotion at all and just another shenanigan from corporate to play up a holiday. 😕🐰

Toby and Angelina spent their whole visit on critter patrol looking for bunnies without success (I don't have the heart to tell them those bunnies moved on to greener and safer pastures long ago). So, in an effort to cheer them up I said, "I know where there's bunnies!! C'mon!".
I don't think they appreciate my comic abilities....

Not everyone is a fan of Easter. Even if you explain the whole bunny thing. Sira was on the fence about this rabbit holiday but decided some blinging accessories on a Wednesday was in order. Petey was a hard NO. Not just no but I'm pretty sure it was a HHHHHAAALLL NO. He prefers bunny p**p and feels the ears are totally unnecessary.
