A grooming salon that understood the girls are not just dogs, they are my kids. A salon that would groom the girls from start to finish, as quickly and as safely as possible, with no crating. A salon where I view the entire bathing & grooming from start to finish. A salon that understood quality care is first priority. A salon that accepted grooming appointments the same way a hairdresser schedules grooming appointments. So Fluffy Pups® was created.

Bob is the best neighbor you could hope for. Over the years, Bob became very protective of us, and it was comforting to know that he was right next door.

My entire family knows Bob, and he has been a part of family gatherings.

Our back decks were only a few yards apart, and it was nice to be greeted many mornings and have chats over the fence.

All my girls were fond of Bob. They would bark for him, and he would meet them at the fence for cookies or pets.

One day I realized the barking stopped abruptly, so I rushed to the back deck to see why. Bob had come over to give Zabaione love.

I never knew he did this, and am so glad to have a candid photo to capture a glimpse of his kindness.

Today I ran into Larry (Golden Retrievers: Stoney, Casper, Buddy, Sport & Buster) while in Middletown.


Here are 2 of my favorite Larry memories.


I had to learn how to fend off some inappropriate behaviors and comments over the years, so it became sort of a reflex.

After many years, Larry, who had momentarily forgotten that he had learned about Fluffy Pups from my Mother-in-Law, asked if I was married. It was an innocent question coming from him.

My usual conversation-ending response is: “Why do you want to know?”

My brain autopilot kicked in, and I started to say that, but I think my brain realized that was too harsh and the words that actually came out of my mouth:

“Why? You interested?”

I have absolutely no idea where that came from, and I believe it stunned him speechless for a moment. It was priceless.

Another visit Larry was going to Bethel Woods that night to see Lionel Ritchie, and he didn’t want to go. I said he’s crazy - that’s going to be a great concert, and I would love to go - he should look forward to it.

Several hours later, I saw Larry’s number come up on the caller ID. Larry was calling to ask if he had left his credit card with us.

I responded, “I thought you were calling to ask me to the concert.”

Larry laughed and said “Oh I love you.”

Coco (Bichon Frise / Shihtzu) fist came to Fluffy Pups for a makeover in our early days of being open. Coco's grandparents wanted to surprise their daughter who was on vacation, by having Coco dyed pink. It was one of our first color requests, and it was quite the learning experience. Happily, Coco's Mom Casie enjoyed the surprise pink pup, and continued to come to Fluffy Pups for many years. Thank you Casie for posting this memory! 🩷

Skippy (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) was groomed today by Sydny, who opened Bark & Bliss in Walden! Skippy (and his sister Dory) were long time Fluffy Pups pups.

Skippy's Dad recently called for a grooming appointment, and I passed along Sydny's information. (845) 713 - 4252.

Sydny worked with us at Fluffy Pups from January 2025 until the day we closed. Working together on a daily basis in close proximity, you learn quite a bit about one another quickly. She is patient, kind, and caring.

Sydny has already groomed my neighbors' 4 goldendoodles. I invited myself across the street to look them over when they came home - the kids looked great and their Mom was thrilled that the pups will continue to be cared for with love.

What did I do on my first day off? I tracked down Ashley Hoppe! She was grooming Charlie and I got to catch up with Charlie's Mom Ruth.

I am thrilled that so many of you have connected with Ashley. We worked together from Fall 2021 to Spring 2025 and we are in touch just about daily.

The last 2 photos are from the Weird Al concert a few weeks ago.

Ashley brought such an amazing energy to Fluffy Pups. There was lots of humming, singing and laughter - and the music selection was fantastic. This song will forever bring me right back to Fluffy Pups, with Ashley and Morgan. 🥰
