Tomorrow, May 2, 2024 we will be closing early at 4:30 pm to honor the life of a dear friend and animal welfare warrior.

Joslin Bronnenberg fought the good fight for so many animals that needed her, when others gave up on them, when they needed advocated for the most. She inspired us to do the same.

Today we were honored to spay and neuter 25 dogs from the Animal Protection League. This means 25 deserving dogs are one step closer in saying goodbye to shelter life and hello to a forever home. We would love to send a gracious thank you to all of the staff, fosters, and volunteers at APL who made today possible!

Sully the dog can’t wait to see the Solar Eclipse on Monday! All of us at Middletown Animal Hospital feel the same way. To make sure our staff can get home in time to watch this once in a lifetime event, we will be closing at noon (12:00 pm) on Monday, April 8. ☀️🕶️

P.S. No need to ACTUALLY buy your dogs eclipse glasses. Animals don’t tend to gaze into the sun, so they shouldn’t be affected.

We had such a great Spay Day performing 25 spays and neuters for The Animal Protection League Inc., Indiana today! Our team worked tirelessly to ensure all of our patients were loved and well cared for during their surgical experience. Tuesday- Open for phone calls and medication pick up only from 8 am - 5 pm.

**Next Tuesday, we will be celebrating Giving Tuesday by dedicating our day to spaying and neutering a large number of animals from The Animal Protection League. This week we are celebrating our MVPs at Middletown Animal Hospital- all of our veterinary support staff! Our veterinary nurses, technicians, and assistants ensure that your pets are loved and have the best medical care while they are here. Through bites, scratches, and some pretty gross messes, they come to work every day with a smile on their face. This year, they have worked so hard learning and growing their skills to better serve their patients and I couldn't be more thankful to work with every single one of them every day. Today, Dr. Webster performed a dog spay with a wonderful veterinary student for spectators at the Indiana State Fair, while her husband Dr. Jonathan Webster narrated the surgery and answered questions about surgery and spay and neuter. We highly recommend heading to Indianapolis to enjoy the fair and stopping by Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine tent!

We love this story of this young lady helping to be part of the solution by fostering a sweet kitty looking for a home at APL. Unfortunately, cat overpopulation is a major concern in Madison and Henry County. At Middletown Animal Hospital we want to be part of the solution by offering high-quality, affordable spay and neuter surgeries for your pets. We’re still wading through kitten season and we need your help. When kittens arrive at the shelter, their immune systems are weak. This makes it difficult to maintain their health in a busy atmosphere. Foster homes are a necessity to bridge the gap, and keep our animals healthy. Our goal is for animals to be adopted, and a foster home cares for the pet until this happens. We have many kittens, cats, and dogs waiting.

Kitten or skunk?!? Ganon is a sweet little kitten who has been coming to see us for his kitten vaccines. We can’t wait to see this sweet little skunk kitten for his neuter and final round of kitten vaccines next month. The best age to spay and neuter cats is by four months of age to prevent accidental litters and reduce the likelihood of spraying! 🦨💉

We think Lucy Loohoo is pretty darn sweet. She came to see us this week to get her final puppy vaccines. Puppies need to be vaccinated every three to four weeks until they are at least four months old to make sure they are protected from parvovirus!
