Wanted to let everyone who loves the fresh-n-clean pet wash know that for some unknown reason the credit card device for the wash is out of order .. 🤦🏼‍♀️ the wash works great with cash .. but no worries we will be installing a new device asap … thank you for your patience with this issue . In the meantime the cash works and the treat device is fine .. thanks for all understanding

We have a friend of the clinic who is currently in North Carolina helping people affected by the hurricane. They will be coming back to Michigan to get more supplies to take down. We are now a drop off point for supplies. If you would like to donate, they are currently asking for warm clothes, jackets, gloves, hats, boots etc. (any size), and heavy duty extension cords. We will have a box inside the clinic for drop offs.
They are also looking for animal feed. If you would like to donate feed please CALL the clinic and we will pass along information on where you can drop that off.
Currently accepting drop offs until the end of this week, subject to change.

*NEW ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAVEL FOR DOGS*
If you travel with your dog over the border there are new requirements to enter back into the U.S.
-Your pet must be microchipped and have the microchip # on a current rabies certificate.
-You must fill out an Animal Importation form online, and have the receipt in paper/electronic form on you for leaving/re-entry.

We don't like making our pets wear the cone of shame either, but it's for the best!
Please make your pets wear their cone after surgery for the recommended time to prevent infection and opening surgery sites. Don't fall for the puppy dog eyes. 😉

LOOKING FOR AN ENTHUSIASTIC KENNEL WORKER
Some of the duties would include:
- letting dogs out
- feeding and medication distribution
- laundry and washing food dishes
- hospital aftercare and general cleaning of the kennels

Ideal person would be outgoing and not scared of dogs, since we handle dogs and cats of every shape and size.

We are looking for someone that has a flexible schedule and is a team player.

Approximately 20 hours a week, INCLUDING WORKING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. Drivers license and reliable transportation preferred.

Fresh-n-clean pet wash is busy serving the community everyday.. we wanted everyone to know that we have adjusted the water temperature for summer time .. ( the water is tempered and will never go below or over a certain temperature)… also we did have a glint with the shampoo for a day. Everything has been adjusted and ready for all the dirty summer dogs .. thank you for letting us clean up your furry friends

WHY DOGS LIVE LESS THAN HUMANS

Here's the surprising answer of a 6 year old child.
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker‘s family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.
The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker’s Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that dogs' lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, ”I know why.”
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I’d never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live.
He said, ”People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life — like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The six-year-old continued,
”Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay for as long as we do.”
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
• When your loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
• Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
• Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.
• Take naps.
• Stretch before rising.
• Run, romp, and play daily.
• Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
• Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
• On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
• On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
• When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
• Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
• Be faithful.
• Never pretend to be something you’re not.
• If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
• When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
That's the secret of happiness that we can learn from a good dog.

Meet McCormick! Don't look at him if you don't want his engine to start up because he won't stop purring! He is the sweetest little kitty and is looking for a quiet forever home with a nice lap to snuggle in. McCormick came to us as a little bit of a rescue situation, and ended up needing a partial tail amputation, He is recovering well from that and is neutered as well. He is a little fearful as he came from being a stray kitty, but will melt as soon as you hold him. We think he would currently do best in a quiet home without lots of loud noises/dogs/kids at least while he adjusts.😉 If you are interested please CALL the clinic or stop in to meet him.
