**New Rescue** If you can help, please donate via one of the links below.

Gypsy was found when a local horse lover was going to get hay today, June 18, 2025. (Not the person she was getting hay from) Karen called the us to see if we could help so we said yes. Karen picked the horse up and took her to our vet at Abbie Creek Animal Hospital. At this point, we do not know what will happen with Gypsy but she will be seen by our vet and will stay there until she can be fully vetted. She will get xrays to determine the extent of the damage in her feet and we, along with our vet, will determine the next steps. While we hope that she will be able to fully recover with us, we do not know the extent of the damage yet. We are putting her fundraising goal at $1,000.00 for now but will update accordingly.

Editing to add: We are going to give her a chance by at least getting x-rays. If the vet determines that Gypsy cannot recover from this, we will do right by her and help her peacefully cross over the Rainbow Bridge. In the meantime, we know her initial vet bill will be xrays of all 4 feet and boarding. If she can recover, she will be fully vetted and start rehab process. We will share all updates as soon as we have them.

Horse Sponsorship Spotlight!

Meet Hank! Hank was rescued in April with the help of Houston Co Sheriff Dept. Hank is around 25 years old. Hank has received initial vetting (shots, bloodwork, etc) but he does have a long road to recovery. Hank is not healthy enough to be sedated for a dental so we are trying to get his weight up. (He has gained weight since being with us but it is just very slow) We hope that by the end of summer, he will be able to get his dental done. Hank was recently diagnosed with a ethmoid hematoma which is a non-cancerous, blood-filled mass in the nasal sinuses. We have pulled him from the pasture and put him in a small turn out area. The good news is that by moving him into this smaller turn out area, the bleeding has stopped. We are still under direct vet instruction on his care and we will do whatever our vet suggests as next steps. In the meantime, we are looking for sponsors for his daily care. This can be a one time donation or you can set up to donate monthly. Here's how you can help!

Thank you to whomever sent these fly masks to our herd from Jeffers Pet. There wasn’t a card or customer info on the pick ticket so we aren’t sure who sent them but THANK YOU!! Hank was very excited to put on a fresh fly mask after his vet appointment yesterday. He is doing much better and it seems his issues are from a previous injury he received prior to coming to us. He will be limited on turn out until it cools down but otherwise seems to be ok. We are planning to do a dental on him in July but for now, we continue to focus on his rehabilitation and weight gain. Thank you for all of the support, prayers, and enough donations to cover his vet bill. Special thank you to Dr Horne with Ozark Vet Clinic for coming out to take care of our boy.

Our newest rescue, Hank, isn’t feeling well so the vet is coming out again today. It’s his 3rd visit to see Hank. The first was around $350, the next was around $200 and we aren’t sure what this one will be. We have already spent $200 this week on feed, plus we need a new hot fence box and now another vet bill. If anyone feels lead to donate, even if it’s $5, that would help us so much. We are 100% volunteer based which means no paid employees. Every cent donated goes directly to the animals in our care. We do not get any federal, state, or local funding so we rely on donations to cover the cost of the rescue.
