We posted about “Moe,” the deaf GSP pup a little while back. Moe was here for a 3 week board and train to learn basic obedience and hand signals, to help his owners communicate better with him. We trained Moe to recall with the vibrate function of the E collar. This is a video his mom sent in recently.

How cool is this? There are ALWAYS ways to train a dog— old, young, big, small, deaf, blind.

Great job by Moe’s owners for continuing to put in the work every day! It’s paid off!!

Opie working on impulse control while on “place,” outside of the kitchen. Before coming here, Opie was running his house- stealing food from open refrigerators, off of tables, and then guarding anything he possessed from his owner. She was not even able to cook dinner if he was nearby. (You will see that I even tossed some chicken on the floor for extra distraction.) Opie has come very far in a couple weeks, but we still have more work to do! Good job buddy!

Ellie, who graduated our 2 week board and train program a couple weeks ago, showing off her new skills at home! Kudos to her mom for putting in the time and continuing to work hard with Ellie.

Board and train programs aren’t a magic wand, but we WILL train your dog AND you, and give you all the skills and knowledge to continue your training journey. If you aren’t willing to put the time and effort in (and listen to your trainer) once your dog comes home, this may not be a good option for you.

Perhaps, get a fish instead. 🐠
