Windy Hill Farm was started in 1998 as a dream of Sue Beth Bunn. She wanted to create a place where she could ride and open it to others who wanted to enjoy the ride with her. Along with her husband Ken, they have opened their home to many adult and young riders who share the passion of riding.

I am super proud of each of my students that competed in the USPC Championships in Lexington, KY last week! Sarah and Hayden competed in Quiz while Lucy May competed in Tetrathlon. Suzanna switch over to the side of officials this year by volunteering in Quiz and stepping in for me to help coach Lucy May for her stadium rounds!

Sarah and Hayden earned 6th place in their division and Lucy May earned the individual 1st place in her division! It was so good to see them throughout the week working hard, enjoying the horse park and seeing how big USPC is 🤩.

Ummm......could you please turn that light off! Kitty living her best life.

Student of the week is Jamie! There is not another person as dedicated to the process as she is. Tonic is very lucky to have a rider so dedicated to a rehab program. A year ago things looked pretty grim for his future, but with Jamie's dedication she is able to enjoy him from up top again! Job well done.

And their adult students and other people's horses under their care as well.

Another great weekend of smiles, tears and stretching ourselves! Take aways from this past weekend at Poplar Place Farm
1. Because it was hard doesn't mean it was bad.
2. Stop trying to be perfect, find the fun and be glad we're here.
3. Just because there are bumps along the way, you are still riding very well.
Oh yeah, Hoke and I were able to get a few more show miles 🙂

This has been such a great week for lessons. Several students seem to have taken a leap forward in their riding and it has been a week of smiles! Here are some highlights of some really cool moments 😁

Hayden learning she can canter Abbey consistently through jumps without letter her get too quick.
Taylor learning how to string jumps together at a canter.
Penny and Kyliegh learning the best part of lessons is riding in the open chatting about what little girls on ponies chat about 🥰

Star student of the week!!!! Sarah has worked very hard to work past some stumbling blocks this past year. She has trusted the process, done her homework and is beginning to believe in her partnership again. I couldn't stop smiling watching her confidence and understanding grow with every jump today 🥰

Who remembers these?! If you know, you know 😁

I had the best time this morning catching up with an old friend. The last time I taught Keely she was 18 yo and that was eighteen years ago. 😫 we didn't stop smiling the whole time. It is so much fun when they grow up and become your friend 🥰

It took us a bit, but it was worth the wait! (We missed two shows last month due to bad weather and cancellation) This group had a fantastic show at Poplar Place today. We swept the Ameoba 3 phase with Hayden in 1st, Taylor 2nd and Sarah 3rd and Lucy May took 2nd in BN 3 phase! Hayden, Taylor and Lucy May ended on their dressage score and Sarah having one misstep at a jump on xc, didn't let is get to her and finished strong! Smiles every where, several personal bests and Hayden and Taylor did xc for the very first time. I could not be any prouder!

Another Windy Hill.student in the local spot light! Lucy May and Teddy are always ready for their close up!

Super proud of the Windy Hill gang's performance at the USPC Show Jumping and Tetrathlon rallies this weekend! They all worked hard to prepare and worked together to help their friends with Midland Foxhounds Pony Club to be super successful this weekend!

Sarah, Hayden, Lucy May, Taylor, Suzanna and Jennifer (back from college!) were scrambled on 3 different teams for Show Jumping and helped their teams place 2nd, 3rd and 4th in horse management out of 10 teams!

In Tetrathlon, they helped their MFPC teams win 1st and 3rd in horse management and win 1st and 2nd overall!! Their horses and tack were spotless! Each of them earned at least 1 exceed standards in their inspection!

Thank you to all the parents for all you do to support their passion!

Anyone who has been in Pony Club knows what large amounts of missing tack means...USPC rally season is here! Let the deep cleaning begin 💪😁

As an instructor who runs a lesson program with school horses andl tack, I LOVE seeing my students take ownership of making sure the tack they are using is well taken care of. This tack gets used A LOT and it takes all of us to keep it in good repair.

Look at these two sailing over a 2'3" oxer 🤩💪 and making it look so easy! Taylor and Nemo's partnership is becoming so strong. They are so fun to teach! I can't wait to see them at the next show.

Having a little jumping fun with Alex and Tucker this beautiful morning!

02/20/2024

I couldn't be prouder of Hayden!!! She has been practicing everything we do in our lessons with such focus and it is paying off. Tonight was her first time cantering 2'3". I am so excited to be a part of her journey 🤩

02/04/2024

Hoke and I also managed our second show! I was so proud of him for surviving the very busy warm up arena to make it into the middle of side by side arenas today. He scored a 67.5 and didn't scream one time while in the arena! 🥈

Our Story

Windy Hill Farm was established in 1998 by owner and instructor Sue Beth Bunn. She wanted to create a place where I can ride and share my love for working with horses with others. Along with her husband Ken, they have opened their home to many adult and young riders who share the passion of riding and caring for horses.

Sue Beth has trained and competed through Preliminary Eventing and Third Level Dressage. She currently teaches riders of all ages the love of horse care and riding. Sue Beth is an HA graduate of United States Pony Club. She continues to volunteer her time with USPC as the Vice-President of Activities, a National Examiner and as a local leader with the Midland Foxhounds Pony Club.
