Calling all Fourth Wing and fantasy lovers! 🐉⚔️

Are you ready to meet your own squad of loyal, brave, and downright magical companions? While they may not be dragons, our foster dogs bring just as much fire, loyalty, and heart to your life as any bonded beast!

✨ Meet your potential “bond”:
🐾 Whim - Playful and loyal, he’s the teammate who always has your back, whether it’s a game of fetch or a cuddle session.
🐾 Quasi - A natural leader with captivating blue eyes, he’s ready to be your fiercest protector and best friend.
🐾 Mack - A tornado of energy and fun! He’s the wild card of the squad, always ready to keep you on your toes while making you laugh every step of the way.
🐾 Snickerdoodle - Full of energy, Snickerdoodle is the ultimate hiking or running partner. Just don’t expect help with your chores—she might run off with your hammer or tape instead! She’s best suited for dogs her size.
🐾 Marble - A sweet, eager-to-please girl who’s still a bit of a mystery. She did well with her foster’s heeler and dachshund. Marble just wants someone to take the time to know her and love her for who she is.
🐾 Opal Rey - Blessed with two-colored eyes and a stunning white coat, Opal Rey will captivate you with her beauty and energy. She’s a fierce frenzy of speed—running, spinning, and jumping—always keeping her companions in sight. While she enjoys cuddles, she’s always poised for action. Deaf but highly attuned to energy and signs, she’s a truly special companion.

Just like in Fourth Wing, it takes courage to open your heart and let someone in, but the reward is unmatched. Are you ready to make your own unbreakable bond?

These incredible pups are looking for their forever homes. Message us to learn more about them and take the first step toward your new adventure or fill out an application below.

Cat fosters needed!

Want to help us save the lives of felines right here in the Permian basin? We need you! We are looking to expand our cat foster homes so we can make a larger difference for those who need us the most!

Our most under severed population is for adult cats and those who need a little extra work on their social skills.

We strive to help the undercats here at PBAA but we can only do so much because we are a foster based rescue. What that means is we do not have a facility. Every animal we take in depends on the love and care of a foster home. The more people who open their homes to foster the larger our impact can be and the more felines we can help.

We provide everything you need from food, supplies, vetting and we work to find their happily ever after. As a foster you provide the love and warm spot to curl up and nap. We match all intake requests with what each foster is comfortable caring for.

Interested in making a hands on difference to help your community? Apply today! Our foster application is linked below!

We have a couple of new faces to introduce to everyone.

Midland Animal Services reached out this morning to see if we could help with these two precious kitties.

First up…..Donnie was an owner surrender because he has some health issues and we all know vet bills can add up and his owner did what they thought was best because of the expense. We had no idea what we were facing but we knew we had to try. We got him to our vet and ran all kinds of bloodwork and it was determined he has chronic pancreatitis which means he will more than likely always be on medication.

Donnie is 12 years young and is the sweetest boy who loves to talk.

(Please no negative comments regarding his previous owner, we know this was a hard decision for them and did what they thought was best)

Next up we have this wee little tyke named Mango. He is a 4 week old baby that was found out in the community without a mom. He’s a healthy little boy that is learning that baby can food is super yummy and being cuddled by his new foster is the best.

Today’s vet bill for both was $474, the majority of it was all the testing we did on Donnie.

We solely rely on your support and donations and we greatly appreciate any amount donated to help us save more like Donnie and Mango.

Marble came to PBAA a month and half ago after being hit by a car which resulted in a badly broken pelvis. She’s a sweet girl that loves attention. She does ok with dogs but as long as they are not dominate or to many in a house hold.

She is needing a foster or foster to adopt. She is fully vetted and spayed.

If you are interested in fostering this sweet girl, please message us.

It’s me again!

The beautiful, the wonderful, the shining Opal Rey!

I am still looking for my forever home! Can you believe that!? Me either! So I’m back today with the hope my forever family might spot me this time!

I am a 6 month old Pyrenees mix who is full of life and goofy puppyness. I have one blue eye, one brown which are sure to draw you in. With having two colored eyes and this beautiful white coat I am deaf. That however doesn’t slow me down one little bit! I love to play, love wrestle with my dog friends and I love people! While training might take a little adjustment for you and for me I aim to please and that little extra effort will be repaid with all the love I have to offer in return.

I sure hope my new family sees this! You can find my adoption application below through the link or message Permian Basin Animal Advocates for more information!

Yesterday two of our felines had a vet visit to booster some vaccinations and get checked out health wise.

Handsome Heathcliff was trapped in a feral colony and brought into foster to work on his social skills. We are hoping to raise some Donations to help offset the cost of his vet care! His full set of vaccinations will be $65, neuter $40 and snap test $42 bringing his total vetting to $147.

The cute little void baby on the bottom is no other than our very own Panleuk warrior Gumdrop! She came to us from the shelter months ago and was suffering from the terrible illness called Panleukopenia which is often fatal especially in kittens. She received emergecy treatment and went to our foster who has experience with medical kiddos. Two days after intake while fighting for her life she also popped with the dreaded ringworm. It’s been a long journey to get her healthy given the odds stacked against her but she made it and is thriving ! The total cost for her vetting while in our care has exceed $1000 just for her Panleuk treatment which doesn’t include any of her vaccinations, spay, microchip or anything else. Any donation amount to her would help us tremendously!

We run 100% on donations here at PBAA and without those we can’t continue to help save the lives of animals just like these two! Please consider helping us to help them, any donation really does make a difference in our mission.

Hi friends!

Our names are Carrot and Pineapple! We are here today cause it’s time we fully finishing our vetting that way we can finally be adopted!

We’ve been in foster care since we were newborns! Crazy huh! We’ve had a few hiccups as we’ve grown as we tested positive for something called feline leukemia when we were smaller. The nice vet lady said we needed to wait until we were a bit older and have us retested since that could have been mommas antibodies swirling around in there and the test will be more accurate when we are 6 month which we almost are! No worries if we are still positive this rescue partners with a place that helps find us amazing homes with other positive kitties and they are ready to meet our sweet faces.

Anyways now that we have hit that age we need to be re snap tested, finish off those vaccines, spay and everything else!

We are hoping you wonderful Facebook people could maybe help us out with some donations to help get us sponsored! Full vetting sure is expensive so we are hoping to raise $300 which covers both of us! Even $5 can help us get toward our goal if our friends could help out a bit!

💥All donations are 100% tax deductible and GREATLY appreciated 💥

Losing a furry family member is never easy whether you’ve had them a few months, a few days, or a few years. When a family pet is sick, elderly or suffering, many owners don’t have the funds to help lay the animal to rest, much less the extra cost of cremation and the return of the beloved pets ashes. In June of 2023, we started a program called “Operation Rainbow Bridge.” This program raises funds to be used specifically when a pets owner finds themselves in the difficult position of needing to lay their baby to rest, but unable to afford the cost.
All the owner has to do is contact us, and we will set up an appointment with our vet clinic. We will pay for all expenses related to the visit and cover cremation expenses if the owner would like their pet returned home to them. This service helps families say “goodbye” to their loved ones and it allows them to be with their animals as they are put to rest, verses the pet being left at the animal shelter to be put to sleep alone without them.

If you or someone you know needs help with laying your fur baby to rest, please message our page or text 432-770-1313.

🎄 Peek-a-boo, it’s Whim and Quasi! 🎄

These handsome brothers wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and share their holiday wish: to find a loving home! While they were hoping for a home by Christmas, they’re keeping their tails wagging with hope for a new home by New Years!

💙 Whim is a playful, cuddly shepherd mix who adores his brother and humans alike.
💙 Quasi is his equally charming partner-in-crime with captivating blue eyes and a love for adventure and snuggles.

While they’d love to stay together, they can also be adopted separately—what matters most is finding their forever family!

Let’s make their wish come true and give them the best gift ever: a home filled with love.

If you’d like to meet Whim and Quasi, send us a message, apply below or share their story to help them find their perfect match!

How do you save hundreds? By fixing ONE!

Over the next few days the PBAA cat team will be out trapping community cats to get them spayed/neutered with our friends at Midland Animal Clinic & Hospital!

We have multiple colonies we are working and have a huge goal of 30 cats to be altered!

Each feline will be fixed, fully vaccinated (including fvrcp), microchipped and given antibiotics and the care they need for other ailments. This helps to reduce new births, improves the colony health and allows the cats to live out their lives on their terms in the only home they know.

Each cat will cost us about $40 for the works and we can’t do this without help from the community! We know it’s Christmas and funds are tight but every dollar donated is helping to reduce the number of animals within our community. By sterilizing males and females that’s hundreds less kittens being born to become feral cats without homes and lessens the number entering the shelter and suffering on the streets.

Wanna truly make a difference to help out overpopulation crisis in midland please donate! Even $5 helps us reach our goal!

Great tips….RESEARCH the breed and SPAY/NEUTER your new family members 🐾❤️🐾🥹

If you are adding a furry family member this season, please research the breed & make sure it fits your family’s lifestyle! Pets are a lifetime commitment. Also, please follow the vaccination schedule that starts at 4-6wks, boosters every 3-4wks until they’ve had 3 sets. Rabies vaccine at 12wks. It’s also good to de-worm your pet regularly. Then….SPAY & NEUTER! We will spay/neuter as early as 3-4mo. Our goal is population control, so the sooner the better! If you choose to wait, that’s your choice just DO IT! Females who have recently had a litter, their milk must be completely tried up & no longer nursing. That’s usually around when the babies are 6-8wks.

“Capacity of Care” is a real thing in animal rescue. 🥺🥺

“Capacity of Care” is a real thing in animal rescue. 🥺🥺

Capacity of Care

This seems to be a concept that many don’t understand when it comes to rescue. Rescue isnt simply a numbers game.

A rescue can only intake what they can safely and properly care for as well as find the right outcome for. This applies to size, breed, temperament, and medical status.

This means that a rescue has to consider what they can place in foster care and not have stuck in foster care. This means a rescue has to consider the number of dogs in the rescue and can they handle a large number of foster or adoption returns. This means a rescue has to consider if they have the financial means to take on a medical case. This means a rescue has to consider if they are able to place the animal in an adoptive home or find a rescue transfer in an acceptable amount of time. This means a rescue has to ask themselves the hard questions with every single intake

Every single resource in a rescue has to be considered. This is space, supplies, and money.

There are always questions to consider:
How many dogs could I save with the money I’m spending on one dog?
When do we say enough is enough? How do we put a price on a dog? Do we have a foster that is capable to handling ongoing care? Do we have an adopter willing to take on a medical case? Can we find another rescue willing to to take on a medical case?

When a dog sits in a foster home for an extended amount of time, are we placing the foster in a position to get frustrated and burnt out? How many other dogs could have been saved in the same amount of time? Does the foster have the long term capacity to give this animal what it needs? Are we ensuring that the foster’s own animals aren’t suffering long term due to a foster animal in a home? Is the foster’s family safe and mentally in the right place to continue to foster? Has the foster reached their capacity for care?

Is this dog safe to be placed in a foster or adoptive home? Is this dog too far gone behaviorally to be adoptable? Do we have the resources to give the dog what it needs? Are we keeping the dog alive for our own emotional needs and not considering what’s best for the dog?

Rescue has a million moving parts and there is rarely a completely easy decision.

So stop judging rescues for only taking certain breeds, sizes, medical cases, or behavioral cases unless you have truly been in the trenches and had to make the tough decisions every day of your life.
