Update! He has a perfect home! ❤️🐾
Sweet Dwight has been working hard on basic manners and is a champ! Through no fault of his own, this first pick pup"s family fell through and he is still available!
'The Office' litter got a room upgrade today! Crates are introduced with the doors left open for now. Over the next few weeks, we'll work up to sleeping with a just a few "office mates" in a crate at rest times, to sleeping independently. Starting out young and gradually makes all the difference!

We interrupt the Cowboys game 🏈 to show you how smart Scrooge is! 🧠 He is available and looking for a home - ideally with humans willing to work with continuing his training and other pets! He's a smarty pants!
We work hard at getting pups on a schedule before go-home! They're learning that after a nap, it's time to potty outside! 🏆

A condensed day in the life of raising #goldendoodle puppies 🥰
Surveillance puppy cam footage captured of little Tiny Tim 😅🥰🐾
Pups are 4 weeks old today! ♥️🐾 Their area has been expanded, open crates are being used as elective sleep areas, daily noise desensitization protocols are underway and pups are rockstars at going potty away from their comfy sleep area and on the AstroTurf, which helps form a tactile association that grass is a wonderful place to potty! ♥️🐾🎉
While everyone else snoozes, Susan and Buddy and having quite the conversation ☺️ These are the first two to have their eyes open - we can't wait to see more peepers!
🤓 Fun fact - their ears are still closed and won't open for another week or so! Hearing is the last of their senses to fully develop. But once it kicks in, they hear about four times better than most people, including hearing a wider range of frequencies!
11 pups in less than 6 seconds! Future owners, check "how to go out a dog door" off your list of skills to teach ✅ 😁
It's a good morning for resting in crates while it rains and thunders! (Thanks to Alexa! No rain insight here, unfortunately!) 😍
Reese (and all puppies, actually!) are little rock stars learning to "mand" thanks to clicker training and their most coveted reward - whipped cream cheese on a spoon! (I mean, I'd work hard for cream cheese, too!) 😁
What is "manding"?
Manding is a term used in our #PuppyCulture curriculum that refers to a behavior we have taught a puppy to use (sit, in this case) to receive what they want (a treat or petting!). Manding opens a line of communication between a puppy and a human and is intended to empower a puppy to "have a voice". It’s the puppy equivalent of a child learning how the magic word, “please”, which increases their chances of being heard.
In its most basic function, manding replaces yapping, nipping and jumping on humans to get attention. Instead, the puppy learns to sit politely to get what they want. That part is nice—but the magic comes from the very act of empowering a puppy to express itself in a socially appropriate way. Puppies do just fine getting attention from one another by jumping and mouthing, but that isn’t what we want to teach them to do to!
Using a clicker with training isn't forever when teaching a new skill - it's just a rapid fire way to help the puppy make a fast association. 🔥 🧠 The action we're wanting them to do (click!) = something they want (treats or attention!).
Noise desensitization is an important part of our daily curriculum! And by the looks of things - these pups are off to an excellent start!! 😍
Life in general can be noisy, and many dogs find loud noises scary and stressful. Desensitizing puppies early to loud noises betters their odds of being calmer and lessed stressed in situations with lots of household or unexpected noise!
Each day pups are exposed to various sounds - some are regular household sounds: a vacuum, doorbells and knocking, children playing, the dryer, etc. Some are unlikely sounds that may traditionally bring puppies stress: fireworks, gun shots, thunder, cars backfiring, construction sounds, a high velocity grooming vacuum, etc.
We start all sounds at a low volume, observe reactions for negative reactions and adjust backwards as necessary, then continuously up the volume and duration as days progress!
