🦷 🐾 Pet Dental Health Month! 🐾🦷

This National Pet Dental Health Month, let’s prioritize our pet’s teeth! Best way to do that is scheduling an appointment for a dental exam! Cats and dogs get cavities, tartar buildup and infections in their mouths just like we do! They don’t carry a tooth brush around and it’s our job to keep up on their dental care the best that we can! Some dogs and cats don’t end up with dental issues early on, 🤞🏼 and then there are some that get dental problems in their early years! 🫠

Please have your pet’s teeth checked sooner if you observe any of the following problems:
🦷Bad breath
🦷Broken or loose teeth
🦷Extra teeth or retained baby teeth
🦷Teeth that are very discolored or covered in tartar
🦷Abnormal chewing, drooling, or dropping food from the mouth
🦷Reduced appetite or refusal to eat
🦷Pain in or around the mouth
🦷Bleeding from the mouth
🦷Swelling in the areas surrounding the mouth

We do dentals here at Animal Medical Center! With full mouth exams, full mouth x-rays, extractions along with polishing and cleaning.

Please please PLEASE be wary of the freezing conditions today and through the night!

Tonight’s temperature is -4 degrees but will feel like -7! Frostbite can set in for humans AND pets in 30 minutes or less. Cats shouldn’t be outside at all, dogs for a few minutes to relieve themselves and do not leave them in vehicles below 50 degrees.

Gooooood morning! Happy New Year’s Eve! 🎊

🎉REMINDER🎉

We close at NOON today, Tuesday 12/31 and we are closed all day tomorrow Wednesday 1/1. We reopen for normal hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday! 🐾

We hope everyone brings in the new year safely! Here are some safety precautions to take with your furry friend while observing this holiday.
- Pets thrive on a routine, and sticking to their normal schedule as much as possible is key. Feed and walk your pet at their usual times, and provide extra playtime or exercise earlier in the day to help them relax at night.
- Keep your pets (cats and dogs) inside if they’re freighted easily!
- Close curtains, windows and create a safe space to calm them while there are firework shows or you’re away

If there are any emergencies, please call your nearest emergency hospital for urgent care.

Additionally, they have a Pet First Aid app serves as a vital resource for animal owners, offering essential information and guidance on emergency response and treatment for a range of situations, including CPR, allergic reactions, seizures, and other urgent conditions.

Good morning and Happy Turkey week! 🦃

We would like to thank you for being patient with last week being short staffed. We appreciate the kindness and understanding during that time! We apologize for the inconvenience of being closed over the weekend. We were unable to schedule normal Saturday visits being short staffed as well. We will be open this Saturday for normal hours.

As for this week, this upcoming Wednesday 11/27, we will have a HALF day. We will be closing at 12:00 and will resume normal hours on Friday 11/29. We will be closed all day on Thursday, 11/28 for the holiday. If you have any questions, please give us a call. 🐾

The Halloween season presents unique challenges for pet safety due to costumes, decorations, and visitor traffic. To safeguard your pets against harm, poisoning, or loss, follow these essential precautions. Prohibit Halloween treats, which may contain harmful substances like raisins, chocolate, or xylitol. Confirm your pets have identification (microchip, collar, and ID tag) for expedited return in case of escape. Secure open flames, electrical decorations, and hazardous items. Store holiday items, including costumes and glow sticks, safely. When dressing pets, prioritize comfort, visibility, and safety. Acclimate pets to costumes gradually. Provide secure spaces for pets with stranger anxiety or aggression during trick-or-treating. Most importantly, keep your pet indoors and safe.
