For those interested in Spring Herpetology Hobbyists: 🚨PLEASE READ🚨

As those of you may know, Herpetology Hobbyists is a fun and engaging club for kids ages 5-10. Evening group meets every other week for 6 weeks. Day time / homeschool group meets every other week for 5 weeks. We read books, complete crafts, play games, and of course learn and hold ALL the scaly tails🐍🦎🐢 There are only 8 limited spots that are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have already let me know of your interest, please reach out one more time and if you’d like to know more details, please comment below with your email address & what time of day you’d be interested in (morning or evening) so I send the email with the correct information / corresponding dates!

This week we visited some of our favorite residents at an assisted living facility and let me just tell you… I always leave this place with the biggest smile🥹 I even had Brandon tag along this time so he could experience the joy of being around these amazing people & he totally understood!🥰 Their smiles are contagious & their kindness is infectious & we are so blessed to get to share our reptile friends with them! Just look at those smiles😍

We absolutely LOVE visiting assisted living facilities & hope to visit many more in the future!!❤️

Helloooo👋🏼 We are here & all is well!🩷 We have been busy with the move & my inability to help with said move due to my last post (elective surgery). However, we are still replying to email inquiries, accepting bookings for Jan 2025 onward, & getting ready for our scaly friends that will be boarding with us over the holidays!🎄

If you have/do reach out over the next two weeks, please be patient as I haven’t had my phone on me nearly as often as I normally do. Thank you for your understanding during this busy time & we hope everyone is having a fabulous December so far & I promise to get back to posting more often very soon🫶🏻

Last week at HH🦎🦎

Last week was lizard week at Herpetology Hobbyists🦎 We had so much fun learning about & holding the different type of lizards I have! We read a book, & played a game where we acted like we had sticky tongues [slappy hands] & tried catching flies. (Fake flies that look crazy real & all I have to say is I am so glad I do not have to catch my food with my tongue🤪) We have such a blast at HH but one thing I don’t talk about enough is how cool it is to see the friendships that form from it! Watching these kids get together to learn about something that excites them, all while meeting other children with the same interest, is one of the best parts & warms my heart so much🥰🫶🏻 I truly love that I get to do this🦎😍

Last night was not only snake week for Spring HH club but it was also our FINAL meeting😞 I truly can’t thank the families enough that sign their kiddos up for club! We have so much fun & all become friends. I get to watch some kids overcome fears, while I witness others gain confidence & come out of their shells. It truly is more than just talking about & holding reptiles. The kids form friendships & get so excited to talk to each other about their week & happenings! As I do with each group, I am going to miss these sweet kiddos & am hoping to see them all for CCC in the fall! 🐢🐍🦎 As a reminder: I will send out Fall ‘24 Herpetology Hobbyists info in August! Like I tell the kids, not all reptiles are friendly. Mine (that I bring to shows) are, but I do have some at home that are what I call “spicy”. It is a work in progress and I will continue to work with them in hopes of one day being able to bring them to shows! I will never bring an animal with me that I recently met/inquired (as most of our animals are surrenders), and you can’t know/trust their personality straight away. So here is some behind the scene footage of building that trust🩷 Shoutout to Carla with @midnightscalesreptiles for encouraging me to pick up this spicy (but destined to be sweet) Savannah monitor!

I have a goal of reaching 1k followers on Facebook! Can you help me do this by following the steps in this video? I appreciate it so so much🫶🏻

At last night’s HH club we learned about the different lizards here at Scaly Tails, one of my favorite things though was having the kids see if they could make their eyes go in two different directions like a chameleon👀🤣 Watch til the end for a special treat😅
