Helloooo👋🏼 We are here & all is well!🩷 We have been busy with the move & my inability to help with said move due to my last post (elective surgery). However, we are still replying to email inquiries, accepting bookings for Jan 2025 onward, & getting ready for our scaly friends that will be boarding with us over the holidays!🎄

If you have/do reach out over the next two weeks, please be patient as I haven’t had my phone on me nearly as often as I normally do. Hi everyone👋🏼 There are lots of new people here so I just wanted to introduce myself, again🩷 My name is Sara & my husband’s name is Brandon. We have four children, lots of reptiles, & yes, dogs too (2). I have always been passionate about animals & people, so I am very lucky to get to combine two of my favorite things to bring you all Scaly Tails🦎

Another thing that I’ve always believed is very important are BIRTHDAYS! They are our one day each year where we get to celebrate another trip around the sun & I love that I get to be a part of so many by getting to provide a reptile adventure like no other!🐍

The social media posts may have slowed down, but the Scaly Tails experiences have not!!🤩

Our family is currently in the process of moving so it will most likely be pretty quiet on socials for the next month & a half or so as we pack, prep, unpack & do all the things in between🤪

A couple weeks ago I got to meet the lovely people of .creekfarm!! Their daughter is very into reptiles lately so they combined her interest with school studies & we got to bring her a very fun-filled science lesson/experience! I loved how fascinated she was with each animal but it was obvious her favorite was Blanche😍🥰 We even got on the ground to watch the snakes slither, and measured Nagini next to her snake stuffies🤩 Also had to track down Sheldon in their yard a time or two😂 All in all, we had THE BEST time!☺️

If you have not heard of Flat Creek Farm, I highly recommend you checking them out!! I am looking so forward to having them come out for my own son’s birthday! The family is amazing & they pretty much do what I do but with mammals (a lot more people’s speed if we’re being honest😅).

So remember- yes, we come to birthdays, daycares, summer camps, nursing homes, & scout troop meetings, but we also will come for a family day or homeschool science lesson🤗

Last week at HH🦎🦎
Last week at HH🦎🦎

Last week was lizard week at Herpetology Hobbyists🦎 We had so much fun learning about & holding the different type of lizards I have! We read a book, & played a game where we acted like we had sticky tongues [slappy hands] & tried catching flies. (Fake flies that look crazy real & all I have to say is I am so glad I do not have to catch my food with my tongue🤪) We have such a blast at HH but one thing I don’t talk about enough is how cool it is to see the friendships that form from it! Watching these kids get together to learn about something that excites them, all while meeting other children with the same interest, is one of the best parts & warms my heart so much🥰🫶🏻 I truly love that I get to do this🦎😍

Last night was not only snake week for Spring HH club but it was also our FINAL meeting😞 I truly can’t thank the families enough that sign their kiddos up for club! We have so much fun & all become friends. I get to watch some kids overcome fears, while I witness others gain confidence & come out of their shells. It truly is more than just talking about & holding reptiles. The kids form friendships & get so excited to talk to each other about their week & happenings! As I do with each group, I am going to miss these sweet kiddos & am hoping to see them all for CCC in the fall! 🐢🐍🦎 As a reminder: I will send out Fall ‘24 Herpetology Hobbyists info in August! Like I tell the kids, not all reptiles are friendly. Mine (that I bring to shows) are, but I do have some at home that are what I call “spicy”. It is a work in progress and I will continue to work with them in hopes of one day being able to bring them to shows! I will never bring an animal with me that I recently met/inquired (as most of our animals are surrenders), and you can’t know/trust their personality straight away. So here is some behind the scene footage of building that trust🩷 Shoutout to Carla with @midnightscalesreptiles for encouraging me to pick up this spicy (but destined to be sweet) Savannah monitor!
