We did it! We hit our Instagram goal of $500 AND received over $500 directly through Venmo. THANK YOU! We literally could not do this without support from amazing human beings like yourselves. We are continuously humbled at the kindness and generosity from the people around us. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, has interacted with our posts, and/or adopted from our little rescue. We saw a vet on TikTok say if the kitty dangles without flailing about, they will have a good temperament when they are older and be a great cat. Today, we tested this on some of our adoptable littles. As you can see, these cuties are all 10/10 good cats. All are available for adoption and would love to find their furrever home. WORKING CATS SEEKING NEW HOME:
On October 7th we were notified of an area of buildings that were being torn down which had become home to a colony of cats. We have trapped 22 cats, secured locations for 20 of them, and are socializing 2. However, there are still about 10 cats there. The buildings have since been demolished, and the cats that call this place home are now homeless with nowhere to go. The city these cats are in is not TNR nor feral friendly, and the amazing volunteers that have been feeding these cats have been advised to stop.
We received donations from incredible community members to help cover the costs of vaccinations and spay/neuters, but we need a place for them to go. Our goal is to finish trapping the remaining cats and find barns, warehouses, industrial properties, and/or a community cat safe yard for them to work on as soon as possible.
Itās about to get cold and these cats have no safe shelter to call home. If you can care for 2 (or more) cats who will help with rodent and pest control on your property, please message us. After theyāve spent their imprint period in the relocation cage, we can help set up a āhome base,ā including a winter shelter for each cat, feeding stations, some food, etc.
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to support our cause! Please share this post to help us spread the word so we can rescue the remaining cats at this location.
Applications for Working Cats can be submitted through our website at www.kittycrusaide.org/working-cats
PLEASE NOTE: These are feral, unsocialized cats and are not up for adoption as family pets. They are only available for relocation as working animals.
Update:
Pooh had a fever and his White Blood Cell Count was high. Dr. said something on his blood work indicates he has had an infection for at least a week.
X-ray looked good, no obstruction, no fluid, possible bronchial... something or other (a lot of information was rattled off, and I forget what word was used).
They also found an ulcer on his tongue. Dr. said it could be herpes, calici, or something like an electrical burn, but we couldn't see anything in his environment that would've caused that. And he has had no other symptoms of calici nor herpes. š¤·āāļø But, Dr. thinks his infection is viral.
As a bonus positive note! He is FIV and FELV negative! š
He was given antibitiocs to keep his tongue sore from getting infected and a couple of different medications for pain management and coating his mouth, throat, etc. in case the ulcer situation gets worse before it gets better.
He already seems to be feeling much better!
We are so very grateful for the caring and contributions we have received for Pooh Bear! The total for his exam, diagnostics and medications came to $667. We could still use some help with those costs. ā¤

Poor little Pooh Bear is not feeling well this morning!
He's currently at the Dr. for diagnostics. We're really hoping for a simple diagnosis and at-home treatment, but we don't know the extent of what he'll need yet.
The current estimate for blood work, x-rays, and some treatment for dehydration is around $600-650.
We are dedicated to doing the best we can for the cats in our care and as a small nonprofit, we could use help with the financial aspect of this emergency.
If you're able to help, donations are tax deductible and can be sent to us via:

We will update as we learn more.
