Kitty CrusAIDe

Kitty CrusAIDe Resources for community cats are limited. Help us provide aid to these cats and improve their lives by joining our community...'tis a CrusAIDe!

Our goal is to reduce the homeless pet population through TNVR(m) while supporting animals in our care with required medical procedures, love, and the kindness from humans that they deserve. We will push to create valuable educational resources and training to the veteran rescuers and first time volunteers in the cat community. Our efforts will ultimately provide homes to eligible animals, and our

feline friends that will be TNR'd will be set up with caretakers ensuring that each cat will have a fair chance to live an amazing full life.

Help Sophia find her forever home!

Meet Sophia, a soul who knows the ache of longing all too well. This week marks a significant milestone for her - TWO YEARS in foster care. While her litter mates and friends have found their forever homes, Sophia remains, her shy demeanor often causing her to be overlooked.

Sophia is cautious around humans, preferring the company of her feline friends. Yet, with patience and treats, she can be coaxed out of her hiding spots, revealing a heart yearning for connection.

She craves a quiet and calm home, where understanding humans provide a safe space for her to thrive. Despite being with us since she was only a day or two old, Sophia remains anxious and needs humans who not only understand but accept her for who she is.
Will you be the one to offer Sophia the sanctuary and love she so deserves?

If you are interested in adopting Sophia, you can find our Adoption Application and more information about our adoption process at http://www.kittycrusaide.org/adopt.

*Please note that Sophia needs a home with another feline friend that she can learn from, and help her feel safe with. She cannot be adopted as an only cat, and would do best in a home without young kids. She has spent some time around a small, calm dog, but would not thrive in an environment with large dogs or dogs so the big energy.

Please share this with your friends and help us find Sophia her forever.

I recently had an interview with filmmaker Josh Carter about the his documentary, "The Kitty CrusAIDe.ā€ Initially driven by a concern for the impact of outdoor cats on wildlife, Carter stumbled upon an impressive cat rescue organization, The Kitty CrusAIDe, which altered the course of his film entirely.

Carter's journey began over a year ago during his birdwatching expeditions, where he observed the hunting behaviors of feral cats. His initial intention was to shed light on how cats affect bird populations, but a chance encounter with The Kitty CrusAIDe and one of it's co-founders, Dani, reshaped the narrative. The documentary transformed into a captivating exploration of humane efforts to manage feral cat populations through trapping, neutering, and releasingā€”a process known as TNR.

ā€œI was amazed by their storyā€ said Carter. ā€œI started following Dani, one of the co-founders, as she trapped, neutered, and released cats. I ended up filming more than I ever expected and was so inspired, I totally changed the direction of my film and I am so happy where it ended up.ā€

The documentary captures the essence of The Kitty CrusAIDe's mission and the inspiring stories of volunteers working tirelessly to make a difference.

ā€œI really enjoyed getting to see every part of the cat rescue world. I love cats, so it was fun getting to see so many. I'm very proud of how this film turned out and I really enjoy the final product!ā€

For Carter, a wildlife enthusiast, the motivation behind his filmmaking is rooted in the passion for protecting and conserving innocent creatures. He hopes that "The Kitty CrusAIDe" will not only educate viewers about the issue but also inspire them to get involved in cat welfare initiatives. Carter's dedication to wildlife conservation is evident in his commitment to creating films that ignite positive change.

As with any filmmaking journey, challenges and heartbreaks are inevitable. Carter revealed that the most difficult part of making the documentary was witnessing the euthanasia of a cat with no quality of lifeā€”an experience that highlighted the emotional toll of cat rescue.

ā€œThis had to happen to one particular cat I was following, and it was hard to say goodbye. Dani has to deal with this often, and it was hard to learn her struggles.ā€

Despite these challenges, Carter is proud of the final product and emphasizes the joy he found in exploring the cat rescue world.

Looking ahead, Carter plans to release "The Kitty CrusAIDe" on his YouTube channel for free, following its festival run. Audiences can stay updated on his future projects by visiting his website or subscribing to his YouTube channel. With graduation on the horizon, Carter anticipates new opportunities on the horizon for his burgeoning career in filmmaking.
