Farm Animal Rescue of Mifflinburg

The Farm Animal Rescue of Mifflinburg was founded in 2015 by Roy and Lorie Hernesh, animal lovers who began taking in unwanted farm animals a few years prior and decided to incorporate as a non-profit in order to collect additional resources to help in this mission. We have met wonderful animal lovers and helped families desperate to place their animals in a safe place when their circumstances pre

vented them from doing so themselves. We have taken in animals that were in some cases neglected and unloved and watched them blossom under our care. We have met dozens of people over the years who share this desire to help animals at community events and have been blessed with generous financial support from animal lovers far and wide. We are eternally grateful for this support and for having had the opportunity to provide these animals a home. Due to personal challenges in the lives of the founders, the Board of the Farm Animal Rescue of Mifflinburg made the painful and difficult decision to discontinue operations and dissolve the non-profit. We were fortunate to find another local non-profit rescue, Ashburn's Animals, willing to accept all of the animals that were living at the FARM. As required by tax law, all of the FARM's assets are in the process of being transferred to Ashburn's, including all of the donations previously made to the FARM by the general public.
