Spring is here (kind of) and this is just your reminder to reach out if your needing some help with your pups! My board and train programs are filling up fast but I still have plenty of one on one trainings available and I am always open for home visits to help with specific needs! It sure has been a long and cold winter! I am so excited to get back to work on helping everyone teach their dog how to be his/her best version of itself. I re-open in March and spots for my board and train program are filling up quick! If you need or know anyone who needs help with their furry friends, feel free to reach out! Some nights get very late, some days get cold, some days get extremely hot, sometimes it rains or even snows and sometimes things don't go my way but no matter what the situation being in my barn, training my dogs is my favorite time of day. Training dogs is truly my passion and I am so lucky I get to wake up and do it everyday. As some of you may know I have been taking a little break due to having my wonderful baby boy; but I am back now. I'm so happy and ready to get to work! If you know anyone who is in need of a trainer or just some tips and advice don't be shy to reach out to me anytime 😉 😁😊🐾🐾🐾

Fireworks are scary for pets & more pets are lost on the 4th of July then any other day of the year. Comforting them when they are scared will not reinforce their fears, so keep them close and help them to feel safe.

1.) What's in a Dogs Name?
Choose your dog's name wisely and be respectful of it. Of course you'll want to pick a name for your new puppy or dog that you love, but for the purposes of training it also helps to consider a short name ending with a strong consonant. This allows you to say his name so that he can always hear it clearly. A strong ending (i.e. Jasper, Jack, Ginger) perks up puppy ears—especially when you place a strong emphasize at the end.
If he's an older dog, he's probably used to his name; however, changing it isn't out of the question. If he's from a shelter, they may neglect to tell you that he has a temporary name assigned to him by staff. If he's from a breeder, he'll come to you with a long name, which you may want to shorten, or change. And if he's coming out of an abusive situation, a new name may represent a fresh start. But we're lucky: dogs are extremely adaptable. And soon enough, if you use it consistently, he will respond to his new name.

New name or old, as much as possible, associate it with pleasant, fun things, rather than negative. The goal is for him to think of his name the same way he thinks of other great stuff in his life, like "walk," "cookie," or "dinner!"

I'm sure gonna miss these 2.. Keara went home this morning and Pluto went home the other weekend. I am so proud of what these dogs have become, they were such good learners and I'm so excited for them to go to their new homes and be the companions their owners hoped for. 🥰🥰
