Yes! I have a hard time bringing outside frustrations into my riding. Something I’m constantly checking myself for. Great advice!
: When you’re emotional, you’re ineffective. If you’re getting frustrated, take a walk break. If you’re still frustrated, go for a hack and try again tomorrow. While of course training is timely, there’s nothing that has to be resolved TODAY, particularly if you’re not in the right headspace for it. And if you’re really going through something - whether it’s frustration about the training, or frustration about something else in your life that you can’t seem to stop bringing to the barn - get riding help. There’s no shame in being human! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Best of luck to Stephanie as she heads off to run the New York City marathon! Glad to help in her “cross-training” as she practices her equitation with some gridwork the other day! A large amount of my inspiration comes from teaching students who are willing to learn and work hard toward their goals both in and out of the arena!
Here is a video of Haylee and her pony, Libby. Shout out to them for making everything look effortless and easy at the Leslie Law Clinic last weekend! These two show up, work hard, and always have a smile on. Very proud! Liz Soliz
AJE traveled to Powder River Ranch last weekend for the amazing Bonnie Mosser Clinic! On Saturday we worked on getting to know the cross-country speeds at the different levels and Sunday was SJ with emphasis on straightness and riding proper turns! I think it is safe to say every participant walked away with a better understanding of the sport! So much improvement from every horse/rider combo! Meaghan Marinovich, Stephanie Caston Auck, Martha Wick, Kelli Rose Brown, Carrie Marxen, Stephanie Sellers, Paul, Kendrick, Natasha, Shelby, and Sadie. Students Steph and Carrie made the trip and showed amazing improvement throughout the three days. Extremely fun and inspiring to watch. AJE horse, Mum, is starting to get the hang of Eventing and I think she prefers it!

AJE spent last weekend at the Midwest Horse Fair! Here is a recap from Annie: Wow, what a fun and educational weekend! Mum (sale horse) and I participated in some liberty and ground work training with Ariana Sakaris! In my opinion, the ground work and relationship you build with your horse from the ground most definitely carries over to the riding. Most people don’t see my training steps behind the scenes, but working horses from the ground is a big part of the process. The horses seem to crave it as well, especially the methods Ariana uses and teaches. I’ve worked with her for over three years and each time we get together I am blown away by her knowledge and abilities. I am lucky to call her a dear friend, and so proud of her accomplishments. It is only the beginning for her! Please check her out at www.arianasakaris.com **Also please let me know if you would be interested in me bringing her to the area this summer!** Student Haylee and her horse Libby also participated in the MWHF! They had the amazing opportunity to ride with Olympic Silver Medalist, Gina Miles. It was so fun to watch her demonstrate exercises with ease and with the big crowds watching! Not easy to do and only 11 years old! So proud!
