Lulu’s Journey: From Misunderstood to Home at Last!

Lulu’s story is one of resilience, second chances, and the power of love. She came to us from Texas with her seven puppies, and after most of them found wonderful homes, it was Lulu’s turn. Unfortunately, an improper introduction in her first foster home led to a misunderstanding that nearly labeled her as “aggressive” — a heartbreaking misjudgment that could have been a death sentence in the rescue world.

But Lulu’s story didn’t end there. After her quarantine, a new foster stepped up, willing to give her the chance she deserved. It didn’t take long for them to see the real Lulu—a sweet, affectionate, and loving dog who bonded immediately with her new fosters special needs sister. She even made a best friend in the neighbor’s dog, Stanley, and now enjoys four-mile walks daily, showing no issues around other dogs.

Lulu turned out to be so special that her foster family couldn’t let her go—they’ve decided to adopt her! She has finally found her forever home, proving that patience, understanding, and second chances can make all the difference.

We wanted to take a moment to update everyone on Lulu’s status. She is the puppy who arrived from Texas and was initially placed in a foster home with a resident dog, resulting in an altercation. Consequently, Lulu spent 10 days in quarantine, which was heartbreaking for us, as we knew she was not inherently aggressive, despite the foster’s claims. Fortunately, after a few weeks, Lulu was placed in a loving foster home, where she has successfully interacted with dogs and enjoys long walks without any issues. She simply required a suitable environment and caregiver. Pics attached!

Meet Sammy!
This 5 year old chi mix is as unique as they come. If you are looking for a cute little dog you can carry around and cuddle with then he is not your dog ; BUT if you like the feisty chi attitude who gives love on their own terms than he may your guy! Straight from the holy land of Jerusalem, this little guy has quirks for days and needs a home that is comfortable with them and has experience with them. So let’s get some things he doesn’t like out of the way. He does not like being picked up, dressed up or fussed about. He likes his food and his toys all for himself and will tell and show you what’s up if you mess with them. He also likes to be left alone when he is sleeping or relaxing. The man needs his beauty sleep and does not want to be bothered! H’s also is stressed out by kids, gatherings, lots of visitors , other pets and loud environments so a quiet home is a must. He also is like a cat and attaches himself to one person. He finds comfort, trust and predictability with a single person and doesn’t want to share his human! He has gone through a lot in his life that has left him with some trauma so he just started some behavioral meds that will hopefully help him so the things he doesn’t like will lessen, but he will always have his quirks and hopefully will lessen them so he doesn’t t have to be in protect mode all the time.
Still reading? Great let’s get to the good parts of Sammy! This little nugget is such a good boy when people accept him. He loves to go for walks and tells everyone from a distance hello! If he likes them, he will run up for pets and a little butt rub and then he is off and ready to continue his walk. He likes to run around the house and inspect everything to make sure all is ok. With his 1 human, he will jump up next to you on the couch or bed for pets, snuggles and love until he is done then he will jump off and do his thing. He loves his toys and will just sit there and play with them by himself and be perfectly content. He is an independent, low maintenance guy who doesn’t need or want a lot. He enjoys car rides and being your passenger queen. Always up for a ride with his person. He is house trained and likes to go outside and sniff out the yard and take in the fresh air. FOSTER FOUND!! Lulu needs a place to foster for 1 week starting this Thursday! Is ANYONE available?!!! Sweet girl who needs a place to relax for a week without any dogs so she can decompress. Crate trained, loves people, queen of snuggling at night and loves long walks. Can anyone help out for 1 week please?!! There is no place for her to go after Thursday!! Poor Peter needs a new place to call home. Either a foster or foster to adopt. He is in a foster who loves him very much but the cat keeps going after him so he needs a new place by Sunday! At 12 weeks old, he sleeps through the night, is working hard on potty training, loves car rides, is the king of snuggling and loves everyone and everything he meets. Lulu is a gentle soul who just needs a quiet place to decompress for a week or two. She previously lived with another dog and even cats, but she thrives with proper introductions and a dog-savvy person who can give her the time and space she needs.

We are offering a foster-to-adopt option and are willing to waive the adoption fee for the right home. Lulu is truly a loving girl who just needs a patient person to help her feel safe. Could that be you?
