Overview
We are seeking a Consulting Veterinarian for a salaried position requiring less than 1-3 hours per week which may be performed remotely, with the option to be introduced to an extensive client list of a previous Equine Veterinary Practice that includes Owners and Trainers of Show/Pleasure Horses, Thoroughbreds, and Standardbreds as well as small animal owners. This position does not require offering veterinary services to clients, which is optional and any services provided would be on your schedule and billed separately at your rates. At your request, if services are offered to clients our office can help you to answer calls, schedule appointments, and maintain records free of charge. Furthermore, it is non-exclusive and does not restrict you from working for another company at the same time. As a Consulting Veterinarian, you will be part of a dedicated team that is committed to providing genuine, authentic care for our patients. Utilizing your veterinary knowledge and experience, you will play a valuable role in advising and supporting staff as well as contributing to an overall positive client experience. In addition, the Consulting Veterinarian will advise the Office Manager to ensure patient safety and implement best practices and procedures. This includes:

A key component of the Consulting Veterinarian role is keeping client’s pet(s) healthy through the implementation and management of animal healthcare programs.

If you decide to take over the previous Equine Veterinary Practice, you would operate your practice independently. At your request, we would personally introduce you to all clients of the previous Equine Veterinary Practice (Delaware) of more than 23 years.
Responsibilities
Advising Office Manager and other staff
Establishing Distributor/Vendor Relationships
Developing meaningful client and patient relationships
Advising and consulting with clients on pet nutrition, preventive pet healthcare, medication, and non-emergency general care
Education & Experience
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Degree or equivalent degree from a College of Veterinary Medicine
Active Delaware Veterinarian License
