Almost one full day with Millie Kay!
Millie came to us relatively house trained, but we have some work to do. She responds to the basic sit command, but it’s tough to get her attention. We are working on commands with rewards. She only gets rewards when working on commands.
It appears that Millie was allowed on couches and beds in her prior household, and although we are “okay” with that every once and a while, we don’t want it to become a regular thing. Millie is still very young and hasn’t grown into her paws, so we have room to work with.
Millie is becoming a stronger lead on the leash! She appears to be tugging less, and responding to “heal” much more often. We are also working on commands during chaos or exciting moments. We have mountains to climb in that department 🗻
Millie is getting used to her new name! We chose a name that started with the same first letter, and two syllables.
Millie enjoys playing with her disc, exploring the house, peeing when excited 😆 and meeting new family. Millie has also discovered mirrors…we wonder if that fascination will stick around 🤪
As I type this, Millie is resting at the front door after another walk today (she’s had two) and a good full belly. She is currently eating Applesauce and Peas kibble, but will transition to a more raw food diet as we go on. Millie doesn’t seem like a fan of sweet potatoes or her gotcha day treat 🥱
Adventures of Millie and Molly continue…
