Did you know that ferrets need vaccines too? Yup. These cutie pies need rabies and canine distemper vaccines (but special ferret friendly ones only) every 1-3 years. If you have need to get your ferret updated on their vaccines- we have the ferret friendly versions. Our sweet Bella has been hanging out with us a lot lately thanks to her diabetes. Our diabetic patients will stay the day with us as we monitor the rise and fall of their blood sugars from time to time.

Soooo..there is an accident on Route 14 just west of the hospital. As of right now, access to the hospital is limited until the vehicles are cleared out. Happy Monday!

Looks like the main roads are pretty good to travel on. There may be some ice on less treated side roads though. Our parking lot is heavily salted but still has some slick spots. We are open as usual ! Just be careful when walking across the parking lot. Dreaming of summer…

It is ch..ch.. chilly out there. Layer up and keep warm. Older pets can have a hard time regulating their body temperature. Geriatric animals run the risk of easily getting too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Truthfully, when functional fashion looks as good as Duke here, why hesitate?

Dental X-rays can seem like an unnecessary expense to some. For our doctors, it can be a vital tool that allows them to look beyond the surface of the tooth. Sometimes there is infection and decay lurking below the gum line and you wouldn’t even know it without an X-ray.

This weather can be really hard on our older pets. One wrong slip or fall can lead to injury or a flair of an existing mobility issue. Laser can be a great way to manage arthritis and age related changes. Our rehab department is currently closed but our laser program is still going strong. Laser appointments will now be seen as a tech appointment through the front of the hospital (instead of in the back through rehab).

Whelp, it sure is snowing steady out there. One thing that we know, sometimes the roads are a challenge even after the storm has passed. Attention Haven Lake Community: Due to the accumulation of snow we are CLOSED today. We will be open tomorrow and will be available to reschedule anyone who has been impacted by today’s closure. The snow is beautiful but not fun to drive on when some of the roads are not plowed. See you tomorrow!
