Part 8! Explaining the chews we carry and how we recommend their use!
This concludes our chewing reel series! Thanks for sticking with me ππ₯΄
Technically a dog can chip a tooth on any chew, even if they've been chewing away for years. But the benefits may outweigh the risks if you're careful. Selecting the right hardness of chews is of utmost importance and reduces the risk of tooth chipping as much as possible. Many dogs chew bone their entire life and only sustain a couple of minor chips that cause no pain and require no treatment so, keeping in mind treading carefully, you need not fear your dog's natural chewing instincts and abilities. Chewing is absolutely wonderful for a dog's mental well-being, especially if you can't keep up well with their exercise requirements. The stimulation they get from chewing can reduce anxiety by providing a physical outlet for energy/anxiety. Chewing also helps keep their teeth clean! In the wild, dogs don't get dentals! They eat a low/no carb diet which prevents build up on the teeth from sugars and they skillfully take apart their prey foods-- bone and all, scaling their teeth of any build up that does occur. If you need help selecting a more dental-health-friendly diet and/or starting to use chews for dental benefits just shoot us a message! Thank you for viewing our chew series, we hope you learned about safely offering your dog the dental and mental benefits of chews π₯°

Chews, chews, chews! Chewing is as important as playing! Mentally and physically alike, chewing is excellent for your dog (and can even replace exercise in times of crisis when you can't walk/hike your dog enough to keep their energy down-- ask us more about how chewing helps anxiety due to excess energy, dental health, and more!).
