Graphic imagery below! We wanted to share the importance of getting your pets spayed. One benefit is preventing pyometra.

Pyometra is an infection in the uterus of female dogs and cats. This infection is caused by bacteria getting into the pets reproductive tract during their heat cycle.

Symptoms include lethargy, vaginal discharge, decreased appetite, increased water intake, vomiting, etc.

Spaying your pets before their first heat cycle can have many benefits but preventing pyometra is one of the most important.

We have attached a photo of a real pyometra uterus that our doctors removed.

Today is World Rabies Day. This day recognizes the rabies vaccine and how important it is to vaccinate your pets.

Rabies is a virus that is transmitted through bites and scratches of an infected animal. Many wildlife species carry rabies. The rabies vaccine works by creating antibodies to protect your pets against the rabies virus.

The miracle of life! Our large animal doctors were able to perform a successful c-section on a Mini Herford cow.

Both the cow and her calf are doing well and we are happy to hear it! Birth is such an amazing thing to witness and we are so happy that we were able to assist in the process!
