I say it every time, so sad to see them go, but the look on the new owners face makes all the hours worth it. I know breeders sometimes can get some negative press. Let me tell you how we care for our puppies.
No puppy was birth without momma's human providing comfort, care and love to her the entire time. During the 4 weeks of nursing, momma was feed home cooked highly nutritious foods six to eight times a day. The puppies were bottle fed every 3-4 hours to supplement nursing. Thirteen is alot to nurse. We maintain a warm environment and worked tirelessly to keep it clean to prevent illness. Often we were getting only a few hours of sleep during those first weeks. More often we fell asleep with a few pups on our laps while trying to console these newborns. We did our best to give momma rest. Each puppy has 1:1 time every day with a human family member, and endless love. We helped them learn to walk, ground up endless bowls of food to help them learn to eat, and of course gave them an awesome playlist so they would know how to chill to great music. They get guidance on behavior, potty, and boundaries. They are evaluated and monitored by one of the best teams in veterinary care.
Not to forget dad, he was definitely pampered since his bestie was busy with the pups.
We committed 1000% to raising amazing puppies. Each one welcomed to stay until they find the right family for them. We are humble to have such amazing families choose our puppies to be their new family member.
Two more went on to new homes this weekend. Our home feels a little empty, but other homes are filled with unconditional love. Yes, hard to say goodbye, but what an amazing experience! We will have the memories forever.
We are off to hug our last four puppies goodnight.
