🐾❄️ Fieldstone Goes to the Iditarod! ❄️🐾

Exciting news! Our staff and daycare dogs are teaming up with a musher and their sled dog team to follow their incredible journey along the Iditarod Trail! 🏔️🐕 Over the next few days, we’ll introduce each of our Fieldstone mushing teams and share daily updates as they race across the Alaskan wilderness.

The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, first held in 1973, honors the historic 1925 serum run, when brave sled dog teams delivered diphtheria antitoxin to Nome, preventing a devastating outbreak. This legendary 1,000-mile race follows part of the original trail, once a vital transportation route across Alaska’s rugged terrain. Over the years, it has become one of the world's most prestigious sled dog races, pushing mushers and their teams to their limits through extreme weather and unforgiving landscapes.

The 2025 race kicks off on March 1st with a ceremonial start in Anchorage, where excited crowds will cheer on the mushers before the official competition begins the next day in Willow. This race is a true test of resilience, teamwork, and endurance, all while preserving Alaska’s rich sled dog heritage.
