Hi there!
My name is Heather , I am the new face some of you have seen lately at the kennel . I wanted to introduce myself as the new owner and give you all a little piece of my background . I grew up in the Hudson Valley and have lived here all my life. My love for animals is deeply a part of my identity. My very first job at 14 years old was working weekends at a local vet in their kennel. I spent time working as a veterinary assistant for various veterinarians including a veterinarian who specialized in exotic animals, where I gained a wealth of knowledge on animal care and expanded on my love for animals of all kinds, from feathered to scaled to furry! I have experience as a dog groomer , have worked at shelters, and have fostered for my local dog rescues. I have owned dairy goats , chickens, and a house duck named Olive! I became a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and found great joy in being able to rehabilitate our native wildlife.
When I’m not at the kennel, you can usually find me outside enjoying the outdoors with my boyfriend Billy, our kids, and our two playful pups, Titan and Rigby.
I’m really excited about the adventures that await, and I have many exciting things planned for the future of Ledgewood Boarding !
