Christmas in the Village is Today!! Join in the fun from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We have one change to the program. Unfortunately, Waylon Hanel had to cancel his performance due to illness. We all wish Waylon a quick recovery! Our State Champion Millington Cardinals will be in the parade, and they will also be available before the parade (5:00p) for photo opportunities with the Trophy. They will be located on the corner of Main St. and State St. in the Podunk Auto Parts Parking Lot.

Don't miss the 34th Annual Christmas in the Village on Monday, December 2nd, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. We have an outstanding event planned this year! Lots of fun activities for kids, good food, a live nativity scene, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, pictures with the Grinch, Wayon Hanel performing following the parade, and the 2024 State Champion Millington Cardinal Football team will be in the parade and bringing their trophy for all to see!! Bundle up, bring the family, and join us for this year's Christmas in the Village!

The 34th Annual Christmas in the Village—Songs of Christmas is scheduled for Monday, December 2nd, from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m., with the Parade starting at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend this family-friendly, fun, community event!

In addition to all of the scheduled activities, there will be a special performance by Millington's own Waylon Hanel. Waylon will be performing a few of his songs near Lion's Park following the Parade and the community caroling.

The 2024 parade route has been changed from years past. Please see the below map. To enhance safety, the parade line up will be behind Meachum Elementary school (green arrows). This is the same line up location as the Summer Festival parade.

Parade participants should not arrive until AFTER 5 PM. They will check in on Gleason St at the entrance to the parking lot (green check mark) to receive their parade position.

The parade will begin at 6PM and proceed (yellow arrows) west on Main St (Millington Rd) to the traffic light at M-15. The parade will turn left onto M-15 and proceed to Center St. The parade will make another LEFT onto Center St and proceed to Depot St. This is where the parade will end (red dot).

Once reaching the parade's end, participants may choose to continue on Center St and either return to the school (to access Millington Rd) or turn right onto Depot St and exit to M-15 via Bishop St.

Only parade units with elementary students may turn left onto Depot St to release children near the Millington Arbela District Library. This way, children are not waiting until the parade is over, in the dark, for parents to pick them up at the school. Parents can easily walk to the library area to gather their children in a safe location. Depot St will be closed to all vehicle traffic during the parade until the last unit has passed the intersection.

We hope these changes will enhance the safety during parade line up and remove the congestion on Center St during that time.

Parents are reminded to keep children safe during the parade and not allow them to enter the street or approach any of the parade units to retrieve candy or other handouts.

Throwing items & candy from vehicles is strongly discouraged. Parade participants are urged to hand out or throw items while walking on foot near their parade unit to discourage any children from entering the street.

Be a part of the Christmas in the Village Parade on December 2nd! The theme is: Songs of Christmas! These are just a few of the many songs you can choose from. Enter a family or business float, or vehicle or walk the parade route! Make sure you add LOTS of lights!!! Stop at the Village office and pick up a form to sign up for the parade or print the form on the Christmas in the Village page.

More activities have been confirmed for Christmas in the Village on Monday, December 2nd! The Historical Museum will give out homemade cookies and personalized ornaments for the kids, and McLeod Realty will have free hot dogs and chips. Benny's Bierhalle will have free Hot Coffee and Care Veterinary will provide free Hot Chocolate. So mark your calendar for this family-friendly, fun community event. Think about entering a float, vehicle or just walking in the Parade! This year the parade theme is "Songs of Christmas". You can pick up a float entry form at the village office.
