So you all know how much I love my ju**ie farm trucks I picked up this 2005 GMC Canyon four years ago at “Helping Hands Charity Donation Center “. it has been a good truck, use it for fertilizing, kicking around town, and Carlson uses when he is home from state. Anyways need some new tires, didn’t want to spend $600 for new ones, so I found these tires for $150, a little smaller ha ha, but I love the white walls!

Forgot to get the picture at 2000 hours, bought this L3130 in 2005 it has been an awesome machine! Have worked the hell out of it over the years on my farm and side work! Only major repair was had to rebuild the front axil six years ago. Best advise: service as recommended and don’t be afraid of the grease!

Farmer thought of the day: Did you know the Fall is the best time to plant trees, shrubs and perennials? Dig them in correctly (hole size two times root ball), loosen roots, set at correct height, add soil admenments if needed, construct well, water in and mulch if needed. A lot of transplanting stresses are eliminated in the fall, high heat, dry conditions etc…. The plants will continue to heal and and grow throughout the fall, winter and spring. Fall and spring are two excellent, growing seasons, and you get two before the stresses of summer!
Bonus is, you can always find plant material at half off this time of year, usually good stock also!

Up cycling project, took more time than anticipated. Could have replaced broken wash tub with new one for like $160, but instead use recycled lumber, a free granite countertop i picked up (tough to cut new hole for sink) old cast iron sink I found on side of road 7 years ago and some barn board I had in field. Had to buy new faucet and some plumbing supplies for drain, but all in for less than $35 and about six hours of my time.

Quick bathroom update, up-cycling and for short money. I really liked a faucet that I got free with a bathroom counter top some was giving away so I redid the vanity in a little bathroom that was kind of showing its age, so I refinished it and added some natural old-school pine board. Made a new shelf with the same material, repainted the ceiling fan from silver to bronze, bought a couple of new light fixture, towel holder, and toilet paper holder. Came out pretty good.

Latest “up cycle “, arts and crafts projects. Picked up items for free on side of road or found as giveaways on Facebook market place. These will be New items for cottage. Had to make two tops out of recycling old barn board because of ugly sticky paper and water damage. Made them look old and antique like seen on Pinterest.
