Pics of Melody

09/14/2023

It is with a breaking heart that we share with all of you the passing of Melody. She was let go over the rainbow bridge to run in those lush green pastures this morning. Her body may have failed her, but her soul now gets to run on the wind, pain free next to her friends that passed before her.

Miss Mountin Melody was a loyal paint mare that had not only beauty but also a great mind. An injury in her younger life caused her to have time off from being ridden. During her time off she showed a talent for learning tricks. She learned several in her lifetime. She will fondly be remembered for being able to smile, chase a frisbee, push a ball, give a hug, and dance! She had an undeniably bond with Wendy and it was obvious that she chose for Wendy to be her person. They shared miles of trails, arena space, and shows together. Much of this time was spent doing natural horsemanship and performing bridleless.

She also helped teach others how to ride and care for horses here at Cantrell Farm. Her faithful presence here will be sorely missed. Some horses go through life not knowing the love of having even one person, and she was loved by multiple.

Goodbye Sweet Girl

They say you live on through memories. If anyone has any fond memories or photos of Mellie they would like to share, we'd love to see them.
