5 years ago I said yes to a dream I have had since I was a little girl. I said yes to managing Avalon Horse Farm and getting to spend my days surrounded by horses. It has been the hardest, most rewarding time of my life. After one of the hardest years I and my family have ever had, I have made the decision to step down as manager of the farm and turn it over to the most capable person I can think of for the job. As of August 1, Carrie Montgomery will be the new manager of the farm that will now be called Legacy Equestrian. I am so excited for her and the future. She has big plans and I have no doubt that she will make them
ALL a reality. Thank you to each and every one of you that has supported me, laughed with me, cried with me, and encouraged me in this crazy journey. I can now say that I have lived my dream life…what more could I ask for?

What. A. Day. Thank you to all who came out to support Avalon’s first show of the season! So many smiling faces, both new and old, perfect weather, delicious walking tacos (IYKYK), awesome judges and volunteers, and the absolute best team that anyone could ask for to pull it all together. As always, I never take enough pictures, but here is a sampling of the day. Thanks again to our horse community and we will see you July 27, when we will do it all again!❤️

1 month from today is the Silver Springs Pony Club Trivia Night. Feb. 17th at Turner Hall in Columbia, IL. We are a nonprofit that educates equestrians on sportsmanship and horsemanship. The proceeds bring in instructors, clinics, education material and competitions. Come join us for a night of trivia, silent auction and raffles. We put the fun in fundraising. A few weeks ago, the barn got a few new cats. They were feral, living on the mean streets of St. Louis. Up until this point our 2 boys, Kemper and Sid, have been too scared and shy to come out when there are people in the room. Today, Kemper decided to hang out the whole time I did my chores in that room. What a beauty!! Our little girl, Marie Laveau, has always been a social butterfly (she’s the little gray). Such brave little ones!

So many awesome things happened today, and I am too tired to recount them all. And as always, I did not take as many pictures as I should have!

Thank you to EVERYONE that came to Avalon today for our 3rd and final mini event of the season! It was so great to see so many familiar faces and to welcome so many new ones!

As always, there are too many people to thank, but know that we appreciate each and every person that took time out of their day to make this day so amazing. As always, big thanks to the people that make this whole thing possible…Denise Wottowa, Cally Siegel, John Wottowa, Brett Zika, and Carrie Montgomery. Your dedication and talent does not go unnoticed and I am grateful to have you in my corner!

Thank you to Sara Huwer and Silver Springs Pony Club for the yummy concessions. The chili was spot on for this blustery fall day.
