Blaze learning how to handle himself better around wildlife! No screaming at or chasing the deer on our pack hike
Sal graduated his B&T
Sal‘s feelings about the world have caused a lot of trouble for him in the past
Severe anxiety, resource guarding people, guarding his crate, going after people as they leave the room, panicking that resulted in biting, and a fear of strangers were among the issues he came to work on
His conflicting feelings and tendency to panic and lash out with his teeth made him a real danger to himself and others. He’s already down one leg because of this behavior. It took 2 weeks before I felt I could trust him without his muzzle
Sal came so far while he was here! He’s notably more confident and comfortable with the world. The guarding of people and his crate is almost non existent, and when it does show can be interrupted easily. His owner sent this update yesterday -
“I had a couple friends over last night and had sal out with us for a while and he stayed in his place and didn’t bark or lunge or leave even while my friend got up and down and walked past him while talking on the phone. Amazing. Amazing.”
She also commented on how much more relaxed and at ease he is now. He will never be the happy go lucky, go anywhere, meet everyone dog, and that is OKAY. The goal is to give Sal the best life for HIM and give his owner the freedom to live her life without having to worry as much about Sal and how he will behave
Side note: His owner is one of the loveliest and most patient people ever. For not only dealing with Sal but loving him and wanting the best for him

B&T Earl Grey learning how to behave like a gentleman out in public
Out and about with B&T Blaze
He’s a naturally suspicious puppy learning how to accept being in the presence of strangers without stressing or overreacting. He’s getting solid with people so now we will focus on his reactions to other dogs
Rocky the cavapoo graduated from our 3 week Board and Train Program!!
He came to work on basic obedience, leash skills, manners, and reactivity. Here’s what his owner had to say in an update -
“Rocky is doing great! I have been meaning to tell you about his first night home. Tj was playing with him and going over Rocky’s new skills. Tj was so impressed, he kept saying that we have to enter Rocky into a contest!!! Ha!
I took him to walnut yesterday when it was crowded with people. He did great!”

Karmic K9 Pack Walks. The best part of the new Karmic K9 Pack Walk program is being able to get these dogs out of the house and doing something that is both fulfilling and productive. Getting out to train, socialize, and just be FREE can have a huge positive impact on your dogs day to day behavior. So many behavior issues boil down to a dog that is lacking fulfillment and lacking understanding of how to behave in exciting situations. Instead of sitting in the house all day while their owners are working; we train, play, run, and practice relaxing together The pack walk program has shown to be a fantastic solution for busy owners and more challenging dogsIf you’re interested in having your dog join the Pack Walk program - shoot me a DM or visit karmick9training.com••••#dogtraining #dogtrainer #pittsburgh #pittsburghdogtrainer #pittsburghdogwalker #packwalk #packwalker #poodle #bulldog #doberman #socialization #balancedtraining
Abby, 6 month old goldendoodle, showing off her skills outside of target. Abby started training with Karmic K9 when she was 4 months old and this is her first time training in a public setting. Her training has been less focused on making behaviors and more on building a bond and communication. As a result, Abby is engaged, motivated, cooperative, and progressing wonderfully!
Don’t wait for problem behaviors to develop, start working and building with your puppy ASAP!
Roman working on down-stays in public. Roman loves people and can be easily distracted so holding a stable position while people come in and out of the store was a challenge. Roman crushed it!
A poodle and a doodle practicing down-stays with distractions at the park 📝
Roscoe was way more nervous than I expected him to be in the store; his tail was tucked, he was disengaged, refusing food, almost crawling through the store, jumping at every new sight/sound. Nothing like how he usually behaves. Due to Covid he hadn’t been exposed to these things properly. So I scraped my original plan for this outing, stopped offering him food, stopped asking for behaviors, and literally sat on floor with him
A few minutes later, he was able to relax enough to investigate his surroundings. We were able to catch a little bit of his fearful behavior and opening up on video. OB is great but it has a way of masking the problem. Sometimes the best possible thing for a dog is to be able to explore their surroundings knowing that you have their back. Dogs, especially those that are fearful, need to know that you actually LIKE them
It’s Club Day 🤩🥳
Not many things better than watching the dogs and myself make progress every week
Pablo is one week into his training program
Our first walk was a mess. Whining, scanning, screaming at any dogs/people we saw, and just all over the place; Pablo didn’t know what to do with himself
The second and third clip are how he walks now. The difference in him is clear as day
This is what putting emotions first looks like. The reactivity has already gone; now that Pablo is in a better state emotionally teaching the rest will be easy
Dog Reactivd GSD
Flynn has gone from barking excessively at other dogs in public to listening reliably outside the dog park
Zuko positions progress ⚡️
Everything I’ve done with him has been through play and pretty stoked about the relationship and OB I’ve built with this guy in the last 5.5 months
My first sport dog and all play based learning. Not caring about or using muscle memory, luring, position boxes, or targets to teach this. It’s been a learning experience for sure
Zuko - 14 month old wonder ween ❤️🔥
