Hi Everyone!
My clients ask me all the time what to do for their dog's breath. I tell them Celery! There are water additives and dog dental bones, but I prefer the celery.
Celery is a nutritional powerhouse containing Vitamins A, C & K, as well as Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, and Folate. For those monitoring calories for an overweight dog, it's important to note that celery has a minimal calorie count of 7.
When incorporating celery into your dog's diet, moderation is key. Be mindful of potential drawbacks, such as its stringy nature, which may pose a risk of getting caught in your dog's teeth. Additionally, excessive consumption might lead to an upset stomach or diarrhea due to the vegetable's fiber content. High sodium levels in celery can increase water intake, resulting in more frequent urination. To maintain a balanced approach, consider offering a few diced celery pieces during mealtime to align with your dog's regular bathroom schedule.
Prioritize washing celery thoroughly to minimize exposure to any remaining pesticides. This ensures a safer and healthier treat for your canine companion.
Happy Training!
