**The One with the Fluffy Kittens**

So no one told you these kittens were gonna be this way... 🐾 But here they are, ready to be your newest furry Friends! When the rain starts to storm, and it hasn’t been your day, week, or even your year, these adorable little babies are just waiting for your love!

Born in the cozy comfort of their foster home, these kittens have made their way to our Adoption Center, and they’re all set to find their forever homes. They might be a little shy and timid right now, but our awesome volunteers have been working hard to help them come out of their shells—and they’re making great progress!

And now, let’s meet your new favorite Friends:

**Joey:** How you doin'? I’m a dashing boy with a super pink nose. I’m all about playtime and love being petted, but I’m not quite ready to be picked up just yet.

**Chandler:** Could I *be* any cuter? I’ve got the same pink nose as Joey, and while I’m okay with a few pets, I’ll let you know when I’ve had enough.

**Phoebe:** Smelly cat? Not me! I’ve got a cute black spot just under the right side of my nose. Like Chandler, I enjoy a few pets but I have my limits.

**Rachel:** Look at me—I’ve got two black spots on my nose and the most adorable black chin. I’m the friendliest of the bunch and love attention, especially those amazing chin rubs!

These little ones need to be adopted with a fellow kitten or into a home with a young cat to bond and play with. Because they’re still getting used to the world, we recommend a household with kids over 12.

🏥Medical Intake Alert!🚨

Linus and Mikita are about 8 weeks old, and brought into our program last Wednesday when our friends from another rescue contacted one of our fosters for help. This rescue was full (and then some) with no fosters available.

Now that these boys are in foster with us, Linus has been seen by the vet for some tummy issues and testing. As you can see, his eye is not in good shape. He will be seen this Thursday, 8/22 at the WSU eye clinic to have his eye assessed and treated (possibly removed). It’s considered severe, but we’re hoping for the best!

Makita had already been TNR’d (trapped, neutered and returned) at 1.7 pounds through a different rescue, but Linus was not because he was even tinier than his brother and would be very unsafe. If we didn’t step in, the other rescue would have no choice but to release these boys.

Their foster said they are the sweetest, friendliest kittens ever! We would be forever grateful if you’d consider donating toward their care, or by becoming a sponsor with us.

Guess what!? The person that adopted Bandit yesterday, came back today and decided they couldn’t live without adding his brother, Lewy to their squad. Lewy was adopted today and reunited with his pal! 😍

Chevy is a handsome 1 1/2 year old fellow with a smooth grey coat and faint stripes on his sides. He has been with us since he was a tiny kitten. He is one of three brothers that were born to a feral mom. He was taken into foster care at about 6 weeks old, raised by hand, and still waiting for his forever home at our Adoption Center.

Chevy is “in between” – meaning not the most outgoing but also not the shyest. Chevy sometimes startles easily and initially may be wary of new people and places until he feels safe and secure. Chevy is not a huge fan of being held or receiving pets, and prefers you admire his beauty from afar.

He has been at the Adoption Center a while now so he has been around a lot of other cats and gets along great with them. While in his foster home, he had some exposure to two cat-friendly dogs and as long as they were quiet, all was good.

Chevy will thrive with another young cat friend in the home. A calm home is preferred for this gentleman. We recommend giving this cutie pie a chance, and to just remember he’s a little on the shy side and may hide when you approach him. We hope he will open up more in a permanent home. ❤️

These boys are 4 1/2 months old and ready to find their new home together! Aren’t they adorable?! You can meet them at Valley PetSmart! 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

When Tako first arrived in foster care, he was the smallest of 5, but now his has a plump little belly and is a big as his brother. Falco is very smart, curious, and sweet. They are very loving and love to be pet and cuddle up in your lap. Tako can be a bit shy, but Falco gives him confidence. They are comfortable around adult cats and dogs. They listen very well when you tell them “no.” Their favorite things include: their stuffed taco, scratch pads, and playing chase and wrestling with one another. They love each other so much, that they must be adopted together. They are a bonded pair.

❤️🌴❤️Kona is a very special kitten, needing a very special home.❤️🌴❤️

Kona is a 16 week old tuxedo girl with special needs. She was born with paralysis in her hind legs and her chest wall is flat. Trust us - this doesn’t slow her down one bit! She can ascend and descend a cat tree without difficulty. She loves to wrestle and play with toys and her siblings. She has no breathing issues. She is continent of bladder and bowels and uses a low entry litter box with wood pellets in her foster home. She has not been around dogs or young children.

Kona is still waiting for her spay, and won’t be ready for adoption until late August/early September. Her foster mom would love to find the perfect family before then, and is ready to introduce Kona to them leading up to adoption.

Cats with rear/hind paralysis can live completely normal, comfortable lives. We are dedicated to ensuring Kona has this opportunity. There are numerous ways to support a cat like her, and we know her perfect family is out there! Many of you know about Dill the tabby. Dill is 3 years old, and has been with us since he was a kitten. He can be shy and is often referred to as “a cats cat” as he loves other cats and “coexists” with people. He’s been with us a long time, because we commit a lifetime to our cats and will patiently wait for them to find their family.

We are thrilled to share that today was that day for Dill. He has been A-D-O-P-T-E-D and has gone home to humans AND two future feline companions! Congratulations, sweet boy! We will miss you, but are elated to know it’s your turn! 😍

These 3 1/2 month old baby girls are waiting to meet you! These two are so funny - they ask that you please feed them by 6pm every night! Don’t worry, they will be sure to tell you if you run behind!

TJ is very active, playful and full of love! She always wants to be the center of attention and needs a human that has time to dedicate to her and her princess-like expectations. Shy is like her name suggests - shy, but also very sweet. She likes to play, but snuggles are her favorite.

Friday is going to be a great day at Valley PetSmart, because these 2 1/2 month old babies will be arriving!

🦁Lion is a beautiful tortie with an upside down exclamation point on her nose and forehead! She's made friends with the other kittens and cat at her foster parents but likes to walk up to the dog and hiss at him while he's relaxing. She's an independent kitten who's great with the litter box and scratching post and will let herself be picked up but doesn't often stay long to cuddle. She will snuggle other kitties and has a lovely purr.

☃️Winter has the most stunning blue eyes and adorable squeaky meow. Winter is a happy kitten who loves affection and can't be still while he's getting it. He gets along great with the kittens, cat, dog, and kid at his foster home. When he gets ahold of a feather on a stick he'll growl like a puppy! He's perfect with the litter box and rope scratching post and ready for many scritches.

🐆Leopard is the sweetest most delicate, polite darling! She will let you know if she gets lost by mewing most politely and will trot up for pets when she sees you. She's perfect with the litter box and rope scratching post. She's a petite little sweetie with the most beautiful face and adorable freckly belly.

Frankie is a very sweet fellow, around 1 1/2 years old. This handsome dude loves to be petted, especially on his head. Check out that adorable mug and ear tip!

He may be a little shy at first, but will warm up once he trusts you. He loves to play, be brushed, to make biscuits, and purr! He will sometimes feel overstimulated when being petted and may give a gentle bite, so clearly he has very high expectations 😂.

Frankie gets along well with other cats and has lived in a home with a calm, cat-friendly dog. He is still getting used to being in the adoption center and may be scared when you first meet him - just approach him slowly and talk to him. He is ready to find his home!

🐱We need your help!🐱

Kitten season is a byproduct of not spaying or neutering. Below, are a handful of our recent cases. Please spay and neuter! Our fosters are working around the clock and our medical fund is dwindling - can you help us?

🏥Freya - Came from a hoarding situation with a severe upper respiratory infection. She is on her third round of medication, this time for 30 days.
🏥Prince - Has been hospitalized and just released today (Monday) after having a temperature nearing 106 degrees. Identified as having Panleukopenia. Currently receiving aggressive treatment and has begun to eat again on his own.
🏥Casper - Was born with an umbilical cord around her neck, to a feral mom. She had an infected abscess so severe, she couldn’t lift her head. Was treated with antibiotics, and is currently being bottle fed.
🏥Kona - Was born with hind paralysis and a flat chest wall. Was identified as healthy, mobile and able to use the bathroom on her own. She is available for adoption, follow her hashtag:
🏥White Trio - Three tiny, wobbly kittens pulled from a TNR job. They have a long road ahead, but likely have severe CH.

These 2 1/2 month old kittens are sure to make you swoon.

🍊 Reese is just a perfect kitten. He purrs the minute you even look at him. His foster mom loved holding him and giving him kisses, which just made him purr. He is playful with his siblings and toys, and after a hearty play session, he falls asleep the nearest human lap. He loves his belly rubs and will reach out to your hand to "suggest" that you continue with them.

🐚 Gypsy is the sweetest little purring lap kitty. She loves everyone, loves to play with her toys and her siblings. She is always purring and also loves kisses.

🐈‍⬛ Chloe is black with light tabby markings, and is also a sweet little purring darling. She will run to greet people and loves everyone. Plays happily with her siblings. She will tell you when she’s hungry. She loves to sleep on your lap.

🍪Cookie is all superlatives. He is the sweetest, happiest, purring, playful kitten. He loves people, his siblings, all toys and snuggling in a pile of kittens on laps at nap time. He is going to want to be close to his person and on their bed.

Harley is quite the looker, don’t you think? Just shy of 1 1/2 years old, she’s ready to snap on her chinstrap and ride to her forever home! 🏍️🏍️ Harley was rescued from the streets by her foster mama, and had then decided she enjoyed the comforts of being in a home (as you can see by the picture!).

Harley will need a cat experienced adopter who is patient and willing to give her time to build trust and come out of her protective shell. When she does, she will show what a sweet cat she is.

This beauty loves Churu squeeze treats and would be a great and easy way to bond with her. When she is being petted, she prefers that permission is asked first by holding out a hand for her to examine. 🔎 She does enjoy soft gentle pets and some brushing.

Harley is independent, loves to sit in high places (like the top of a tall cat tree), and her favorite past time is to bird and bug watch out the windows. She gets along well and enjoys other cats, but she will chase a passive/submissive cat. She has been in a home with a small dog (cat-friendly) but we do feel she will do best in a child-free home.

Today is International Cat Day!

International Cat Day is a day to unite cat lovers across the globe and celebrate cats – sharing our passion for this fascinating species! Created in 2002 by The International Fund for Animal Welfare, this is a day to raise awareness for cats and learn about ways to help and protect them.

Every cat and kitten in this photo came through our doors from our wonderful foster families. Some were premature, others were born with illness, some had to be bottle fed, others had to be socialized. Some of them grew and thrived while others didn’t, despite our best efforts. What they had in common however, was they were safe, indoors, loved, fed, groomed, vaccinated, sterilized, and given a chance to live and be happy. Our hearts beat for cats, and we’re thankful to join like-minded community members with the same passion!
