To my fellow Horsewomen

I didn’t sweep the barn aisle. I left the barn feeling guilty tonight. See, sweeping the aisle is usually the last thing I do at the barn for the day. It’s the nightcap. Tonight something was different, I needed those 10 minutes it would have taken to sweep for the other half of me. Fellow horsewomen we must never forget we have another half of ourselves in this all consuming addiction we have. We are wives, grandmothers, mothers often time with full time jobs besides the barn.
The important chores were done, grain fed, hay thrown, water buckets full, carrots fed. The horses didn’t care the aisle was left dirty. Only the cat was judging sitting on her perch of hay but she is like that.
I choose to leave the barn at 7:15pm instead of 7:25pm. I choose to take those 10 minutes for the other half of me. I choose to spend them with my husband who thinks he is married to a ghost sometimes.
Ladies take those 10 minutes when you need them, the aisle will still be waiting to be swept tomorrow. So if you stop by to visit & my barn aisle isn’t swept know I choose to take those 10 minutes for my other half.

When it’s 8:30am and already your 3rd barn check of the day… even though I have cameras on everyone. I still like to put hands on them myself AT LEAST every 4 hours ❤️ no matter the weather

I love when owners say “please just help… any advice you have we will take” and leave their feed plan and workout plan in my hands! This old girl has been struggling and it’s broke her owners heart. I have been honest with the owners and told them she does struggle bad during her workouts but she is slowly improving. They were scared this might not work for her so I decided to do an EARLY progress report to show them how she has benefited already!!! This is only FIVE days of being here and thankfully they decided to leave her for 2 1/2 weeks. We are about to have a HUGE transformation! Stay tuned and keep watching her progress!
