Last month, corporate volunteers from Apple joined us for our pet pantry volunteering opportunity! 💼🐾

It was extra special because two volunteers were repeat participants—they loved the previous events so much that they set up alerts in their internal system for any HSSV opportunities. Now, that’s dedication! ❤️

Together, they bagged over 9,000 meals. As a bonus, they got some well-deserved puppy time with Bessie and Belinda. 🐶✨

Our shelter rooms are (almost) EMPTY, and our hearts are FULL! Thanks to the generosity of the Sobrato Family and the Family of Wilbur and Indy, so many animals found loving homes. We can now rebuild the shelter from the fire damage and start the demolition process in the New Year.

To the adopters who opened their hearts and homes, thank you for giving these animals the love they’ve been waiting for. We are so excited they can spend the New Year with you! 🐾

About Us

Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) has been serving people and pets in Silicon Valley for over 85 years. Having facilitated more than half a million animal adoptions, HSSV is leading the charge for animal welfare through community education programs, creative marketing techniques and effective homeless animal prevention strategies. HSSV also offers quality adoptions, affordable spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchipping services, and pet care services to enhance the human-animal bond. HSSV’s mission is to save and enhance lives, both two-legged and four-legged.

In 2017, HSSV became the first “model shelter,” an achievement accomplished by meeting over five hundred guidelines for standards of animal care set by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. At the heart, being a model shelter means that we’re committed to the well-being of animals while they are in our care - both physical and emotional - and we work hard to set them up for success with their future families.
