Come make a difference in the lives of others! We're looking for individuals to help with various fix-it projects around the ranch, office tasks, and fundraising efforts. Horse experience is NOT required, but if you have it, let us know!

Volunteer Abigail Matteson & Parker (The Russian Prince) ROCKED it today at the Fox River Saddle Club show! Abby was up for a challenge after 2 years of showing Chewie. Parker has NO showing background, is 20 years old, is a rescue horse & has only 2 shows previous to their 2 this year. SO MANY great classes today!
Highlights:
* RESERVE CHAMPION halter horse! 🏆 We are just used to the quarter horses & paints being chosen so this was a big success for our purebred Arabian!
* Abby is patient with Parkers learning curve as he shows improvements & some frustrations with being in an arab halter for the first few times, in both halter & showmanship.
* Parker is learning how to pivot in showmanship! And Abby always presents herself & her horse, well groomed, confident & with poise & professionalism
* Abby & Parker become a better team with every ride & every class! They showed english & western 🤠 walk trot today & equitation on the rail. Parker even seems to want to keep going back in the ring!
* Parker is smart & intuitive but also sensitive, so Abby is learning to fine tune her riding aids & cues to match his sensitivity & communicate effectively with him.
* Abby made sure that Parker stayed hydrated 💧, gave him breaks & wiped him down with water at the end of the show.
* I was treated to Culvers on the way home - yum! 🍔
* Once home, he got hosed off & liniment, fed, his neck sore doctored 🤕 (yes he rubbed a bug bite raw the day before the show!), she cleaned the trailer, his stall & the aisles & helped me unhook the trailer.

Abby won too many ribbons to count today, but the experience & time she spent building trust & respect with Parker was the real win! With Becka Matteson

SO PROUD! Makenna (a horse camp volunteer) and Chewie's 2nd show ever! She WON the 4-H 🍀 high point! Big improvements with every class! Ribbons are nice but what matters most is lots of FUN & learning!
Highlights:
* 2nd place halter w/ a 25 year old arabian - keep them in shape & Arabs look great forever!
* BIG improvements with every showmanship class!
* 5 Walk Trot Canter classes - this girl has only been cantering for 4 months! She knows her canter leads & her trot diagonals & keeps great spacing on the rail.
* Makenna is always friendly, a good sport & compliments other riders & their horse horses ❤️
* she tried hippology (equine ed test) for the first time & won the beginner division!
* at the end of a hot show day she still tried in hand trail (obstacles) class
* Makenna took good care of Chewie, making sure he had hay & water & lots of grooming & pets for a job well done
* when we returned home, she gave her horse a liniment bath, unloaded the trailer, fed Chewie, cleaned his stall, found his fly mask & turned him out for the night ❤️🐴.

Makenna & Chewie had a blue ribbon 🏆day in every way! With Becka Matteson

Join us this Sat, June 28, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for RANCH HANDS. Ranch Hand events are open to anyone looking to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Come when you can, leave when you need to.

Saturday's projects include: assembling a portable fence for use in the indoor arena, relocating boots and helmets to the new cabinet, handling the goats, etc.

MUSTANG HORSE CAMP! (Post #1) Monday was HOT but we took it easy with lots of fans & water. Groomed, took pics, only rode a short time, prepped our crafts then put horses away with hay and water. Headed to the kitchen for cooling off, eating lunch, making horse no bake treats and a "make a horse" team contest. Of course its hard to focus when you have 6 cats and a dog in the house lol! Back outside we walked the shady woods trail then one team braided horses manes to keep them comfortable while the other hosed them down with cool water. Ended the day with a baby goat visit and slip n slide down the hill! Tuesday camp delayed one week due to potential for strong storms. See you next week Mustang Camp!

YOUTH micro-grant project! If you have a group of youth & teens that would like to do a project for Triple H Ranch, we would love to have you get involved! We have several obstacles that could be made for therapeutic riding lessons that would fall into these guidelines. Contact me at [email protected] thanks!
