DID YOU KNOW? We have 2 new therapeutic riding instructors in training here at Triple H Ranch! Ari Gasser is an experienced horse woman, works with many people with special needs or challenges & volunteers here. In this video she shares what becoming an instructor means to her. She is currently completing her instruction hours to become a PATH Int'l CTRI (Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor). PATH Int'l is the gold standard of therapeutic & adaptive riding, and becoming an instructor requires completion of 5 key areas:
* Equine Handling
* Equine Management
* Video Demonstration of riding instruction & communication
* Documentation of working with people with disabilities
* Supervised instruction of therapeutic riding lessons by an approved PATH Int'l professional (Sheila Martin)
After the 5 areas are submitted to PATH Int'l for approval and scoring, instructor candidates take a rigorous 90 min proctored exam.
Training new instructors will allow us to offer more class times & reduce our 9 - 12 month current waitlist. It will also allow us to offer more opportunities to our community including:
* more services for adults with special needs
* daytime lessons, Equine educational outings & outdoor ed experiences.
* plans for a dementia & Alzheimers support program and possible veterans services.
* availability for community meetings, outings or experiences
Check out what Ari has to say and what is going on here in our community at Triple H Ranch!
