Also if you call me and tell me another dog has been there and you didn’t research to make sure it was an experienced wounded game recovery dog… There’s a chance I won’t take your track. I do track behind other dogs but if you let someone come with an inexperienced dog just because they could get there first I’m not interested.
Don’t let your buddy bring his deer dogs to “track your deer” either. There is a big difference.

Hunter called us on this one the other weekend because he was having a hard time finding blood. The girls had it loaded up in no time.

Got confirmation this buck is back on camera.
Even when you have “tons of blood” it doesn’t always mean a dead deer.

We went and loaded up this first bow kill for a hunter last night. We let her lay a bit because his arrow had liver blood all on it and the hunter had jumped her. As soon as he Jim her he backed out. We found her in her second bed at just 147 yard from where she was jumped.

The last 2 pics are from a suspected brisket shot. We’d just got home from the first track and got a text for the second. Ate dinner and loaded up and off we went. The girls tried to bay this buck up but he was not sticking around. It may look like a lot of blood but it wasn’t enough to seal the deal. There were 2 good sized piles like the first pic then 2 like the next and then it started tapering out. I had 3 people following me and we didn’t find much on the track. In the grand scheme of things he didn’t bleed much. My little black dog ran him the most. He wouldn’t hold bay for 1 dog nor 2 dogs. She ran him 700 yards past where we stopped and then stopped on her own and came back. Little girl don’t give up either.

Went to a track. Sturgill jumped it about a hundred yards from the hit side in the creek him and Bambi ran it. Bambi stopped 300 yrds in saying it would live and Sturgill ran it thousand yards before he gave up believe she's going to live.

We recovered this buck last night for Mr JT up here in Kentucky.
He and his buddy tracked him for 500 yards and ran out of blood at a bed. They backed out and posted in a local group but couldn’t get any local trackers available to commit. We loaded up and helped him tailgate his buck.

Just a tip from something I see from time to time…

When you shoot a deer and go to look for it. Please try to limit the amount of people and amount of walking you do around your hit site.
If your hit site doesn’t look good and you feel the shot was questionable, back out and call a dog.
If you track a little ways and it doesn’t look good back out and go ahead and call a dog.

The more you walk around and the more buddies you have walking around makes things difficult. A lot of times the hit site can be a slow start even for seasoned dogs. This is because it’s usually where the most looking is done.

Top 2 pictures are at hit site. Bottom 2 are further down the track a couple hundred yards. Arrow and broadhead are pics from the next day. Deer was broadside at 25 yards, shot with a compound bow 20ft in climber. 56 #, short dl, heavy arrows with high foc, 200gr coc broadhead. Lighted knock did not light up, deer stumbled and then took off fast. Area is LOADED with coyotes.

My handsome boy has been growing like a w**d. Up up up. He looks like a lanky teenager right now. All legs.
At 6 months old today, he’s already taller than Bagheera.
Can’t wait to get him in the woods with her.
