🚨 URGENT: Capacity Emergency 🚨

Our dog kennels are completely FULL, and some single kennels are now housing two or three dogs each! We've had to set up temporary kennels to house the overflow. We urgently need to make space for incoming animals.

Over 500 pets have come into our care in the last two weeks, and every day, our team must push beyond our building's capacity to make the space needed for them. We only expect the number of pets coming to us to increase as the summer months bring a larger number of lost pets to our shelter.

Here are five ways you can help with this extreme overcrowding:

🐾 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭: Starting June 12-16, we are waiving adoption fees for adult dogs, adult cats, and all critters to create space and recourses to sustain our lifesaving operations.

We can provide those who find lost pets with supplies such as food, kennels, leashes, and collars. Have you met our newest doctor yet?? Dr. Kaitlyn Jonk was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. She has taken her education around the world, eventually graduating from Ross School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She has since worked at clinics across the Midwest and East coast, eventually deciding to settle a little closer to home here at Edgewood Veterinary Clinic. In her free time, Dr. Jonk spends a lot of time at the barn riding her horse, going hiking, reading, and working on her various new year’s goals.

We wanted to let you, our clients, know what was going on since so many of you loved our clinic dog Puppy. Puppy ran the office for most of her 15 years of life, greeting clients and patients, and stealing treats from hands, and sometimes your purse. Recently, she has had very painful back issues, GI problems, painful skin issues, and increasing seizures. A few days ago, she started having debilitating seizures and was not able to fully recover. At that point we as a clinic decided that it was time to help her cross the rainbow bridge. Please respect our clinic staff during this time, and know our hearts are hurting and healing with you.

3️⃣ Outdoor walks are paw-some, but stick to open areas and keep your pets secured on a leash to avoid harm's way. 🐾
