We educate others on animal care, welfare, and rights. We operate as a foster-based, volunteer run nonprofit, serving Washington state.

Soju has been put on a treatment plan for her urinary infection that seems to be working well. It took awhile to get it right but we believe the current antibiotic treatment is helping. Soju so likely be on these antibiotics long-term. Any help towards her medical expenses is appreciated!

We always hold off posting sad news but we want to take a moment to honor those we lost last year... Last year was rough for us. We were under stress getting our vet bills under control. Adoptions were slim. We lost some volunteers. But we loved every moment we had with each of the babes we had the honor of caring for. 🤍🌈

We are REBRANDING! Over the next few weeks, you will see everything transition to our sanctuary name only, Sully's Safe Haven. This has been something on our hearts for a while. Life has thrown us some curveballs over the last year and we feel this is the best way we can continue to serve our community. Thank you for continuing to support us! We still have quite a few animals looking for their forever home so as always, opt to adopt!

Over the years, Lala’s has constantly changed in order to meet the needs of the community. Initially rescuing hamsters, then helping meet the needs of domestic rabbits, transitioning to cavies, and the occasional reptile here and there. Throughout it all, our goal has been to serve the small animals we could in our immediate community and throughout the state.

At this time, we feel our resources and limitations have led to the decision to do sanctuary work full time vs rescuing. This means, going forward the animals we take in will be with us forever. Some of our foster homes will continue to host those that will be up for adoption, but the number of animals we intake will be significantly reduced. Unfortunately that is what we can manage at this time vs closing our doors. This will give us the opportunity to assist animals requiring higher levels of care. Our grooming and sleepover services will continue as long as we have the volunteers. As you can see by our new logo, our focus is also going to be on more smaller mammals. We will no longer be intaking rabbits or reptiles. We have been able to build great relations with some rabbit rescues, rodent rescues, and reptile rescues whom we can refer you to. Thank you for continuing to support our work! We couldn't do this without you.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ❗️
This year has been a challenging one for us. Donations are at an all time low, we have lost some very involved volunteers, and our last adoption was in August. Fall is usually the busiest time for adoptions yet they were nonexistent this year. And with no adoptions, all of our fosters are currently full with animals that have been with us for almost 2 years. We no longer have the capacity to do intakes with our limited foster homes. This also limits our ability to do sleepovers and have senior sidekicks available. We lost our hay train volunteer so we are not sure when this will restart. Bonding and Grooming services will be limited as we only have a few volunteers comfortable doing it...

We are hopeful that during this hiatus, our volunteers will get a break and be able to take some time for themselves and their families. Rescue has been our life for the last 4 years and with the lack of public support and adoptions, we are struggling to continue to serve our community in the capacity we were. We never want to have to close our doors for good so this is necessary for us to be able to continue operating.

Our founder, Lala herself, is undergoing surgery today and will be out for at least a month. She does a LOT of the heavy lifting for the rescue so with her out, our communication and services will be limited. We will do our best to respond to inquiries in a timely manner but with the holidays, things can get hectic around here. Thank you for understanding and for continuing to support our mission for these lil babes.
