It's our 3rd year doing events for students at Brown University in Rhode Island! Today, we're doing our second Double Deluxe Full Petting Zoo there this year! (2 petting zoos running simultaneously side by side to help mitigate long lines and prevent our animals from getting overwhelmed)

Chelsea and I are en route with:

4 chickens
6 baby chicks
3 ducks
2 hamsters
6 guinea pigs
2 sheep
4 goats
6 quail

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Sprinkles, our littlest Guinea Pig, passed this morning after a couple of vet visits and almost a week of antibiotics. 😞 Sprinkles came to us with 2 other Guinea Pigs (Donut and Squeeks) as rescues, and was with us for just shy of 2 years. Here she is in the petting zoo a few weeks ago with some of our bunnies. ❤️

Sprinkles update - she's been on antibiotics since Monday, but still isn't feeling very good. 😔 She's staying separate from her friends right now in case she's contagious. She got a warm bath this morning too, because she had some really messy diarrhea. We hope she feels better soon! ❤️🙏

Prayers for Sprinkles, one of our Guinea Pigs. ❤️ She was at the vet last month for a check up, because we noticed her drinking excessive amounts of water. Today, she's going on antibiotics for heavy, raspy, labored breathing. 😔🙏❤️

Our 2 incredible hamsters, Hammy and Jellybean, had wellness checks at Central Park Veterinary Clinic today and are doing fantastic. 🥰

Hammy is pictured in the little scale. Hammy is 190 g and Jellybean is 168 g- both girls are a bit larger than average - well fed! 😅🥰

Fantastic events today overall!

We did have a very unique experience at a larger event today. We were understaffed due to an emergency, and were literally swarmed by the crowd, with people letting themselves into the petting zoo overwhelming our animals, and staff. A volunteer was provided to man the gate, which quickly resolved all issues. We are very happy that all of our animals are doing well, and have wellness checks next week regardless. We also appreciate these types of experiences to help us better prepare for and mitigate unforseen issues in the future in order to ensure the very best experiences for both our animals, and clients. 🥰🙏😊
